Added a definition[edit]

Hi,

I added a definition to explain that Land Mobile Radio System is a term rather than the name of a DoD system. The Dod system referred to in the rest of the article may be called Land Mobile Radio System (I doubt it though). LMRS in the telecom industry really is more of a generic term to describe a type of radio system. Everything after the defintion could be dropped.

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Land mobile radio system. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Encyclopedic?[edit]

Regarding (sub section Interference in the spectrum):

"One technician likened it to a whisper competing with a yell"

Is that for Wikipedia?

And is that long quote needed?

So what exactly is LMRS?[edit]

I have to admit that I didn't get it from this article. Is that a standard? A principle? Something else? Moreover, is this article relevant only to North America or also to the rest of the world? Same question for the mentioned frequency bands.

The article as it is now isn't really informative. Babbling about garage openers doesn't help either. If the above questions aren't answered, it would be better to reduce the article to a stub with just a quality definition. Kind regards, Arny (talk) 10:19, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
