Modified caption and Recommend a Lede[edit]

I saw that one of the photo captions wasn't recorded and left justified in an odd way. I made it right justified and added a caption. I think this improves the information flow in that section.

I think that the article could benefit from a lede. It would help readers get a quick sense of the "big picture" before launching into the background and the relatively dense details of the legislation and technical projects. Biodiverse (talk) 16:36, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[edit]

I'm quite impressed by the number and quality of the original diagrams in this piece. It's very informative and reflects a lot of work. I second the suggestion above that the lede could use additional work. Rather than a brief description of "this is an article about..." it could be a short paragraph that lays out some of the basic information from the intro and then highlights some of the key points from other sections. Comments[edit]

I agree with the last two comments but overall, thought the article flowed well and had a good amount of solid quantifiable information. Your diagrams and use of bullet points are great. I especially like the picture from the environmental ed center! bethkn (talk) 13:08, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Campus Ambassador comments[edit]

Hi all, good work so far on this article, especially with the images! Here is some feedback on the article to help you improve it further:

  • The article title is kind of awkward. Something like Landfill emission reduction in Brazil would be more compact and understandable.
  • Section titles should be in sentence case: all lowercase letters except for the first letter and any proper nouns.
  • Wikipedia style is a bit more like journalistic writing rather than essay writing, in that the more important sections should be closer to the top. Specifically, I'd put the "Legislation" section closer to the bottom.
  • While the images themselves are good, they don't have any captions and are not explained in the main text. Since these are fairly complicated diagrams, they don't really explain themselves. I'd encourage you further explain in words what each element in each of the diagrams represents and what the context of the idea being presented is.
  • More generally, the article is heavy on diagrams, tables of raw data, and legislative details. It would be better to expand the article to focus on more big-picture concepts.

Also, I reiterate Donald's advice on seeking feedback above. Keep up the good work! Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 23:50, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

I have assessed this as "start". Although it contains some good content and refs, it is confusing to read, the intro does not give an overview of the article (see WP:LEAD), and some sections lack references. The article needs clean-up and re-org. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:07, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not related to cartoons, leftist politics or know-all's versions of facts[edit]

Hi, is this really suitable for wikipedia? It doesn't feature fourteen pages discussing a cartoon, some secondary school propaganda version of politics or some armchair expert's version of widely believed science. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.128.4.130 (talk) 01:15, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
