Article's limited use of Manguin's paper on the subject[edit]

The article seems confusing as it does not follow much of Manguin's paper on the subject (Manguin 2019, Sewn Boats of Southeast Asia: the stitched‐plank and lashed‐lug tradition, International Journal of Nautical Archaeology, September 2019). For instance, this paper clearly explains the terminology that has been developed:
"A designation for the specific Southeast Asian tradition has now been adopted: it is described as the ‘stitched-plank and lashed-lug’ technique for the earlier vessels, and only as ‘lashed-lug’ for later ones. This terminology was discussed with Patrice Pomey and Sean McGrail at a conference on Tradition and Archaeology held in 1994 in New Delhi (Manguin, 1996); it was subsequently adopted by McGrail in his Boats of the World reference work (2001: 296–307)"
It is hard to see why the terminology agreed between leading experts is not really followed in the article. Wrapping in the description of the build of an outrigger canoe from Horridge makes the article self-contradictory. ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 19:51, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
