La Auditions[edit]

What about the Los Angeles auditions? I don't see any references to those and I know they happened.

Audition listings[edit]

I have two points about the audition listings:

  1. The not-made-through lists seem incomplete; at least New York City, there were a lot more than three guys who didn't make it
  2. Including a list of those who didn't make it (especially those who weren't even featured, like Costaki Economopoulos) is pretty much trivial, incomplete (as mentioned) and a complete list would be uncited original research. Ultimately, they didn't make it past a brief clip of a performance or two, if that. I think only those who actually make it to the semi-finals ought to be mentioned, or the article will just be majorly bloated (it's already fairly large after just one episode and onyl for the auditions - the article will get to be huge if this keeps up) TheHYPO (talk) 07:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Errors[edit]

I am almost positive (99% but not 100%) that Sean Cullen and Winston Spear were the only comics shown advancing from Toronto. Perhaps the show didn't want to devote time to the other two in the upcoming semi-final episode where they wouldn't advance, and thus cut their advancing from the prelim entirely. It sounds to me like someone who added that list of Toronto advancers was actually at the show and posted from first-hand experience, so perhaps this is what happened? Either way, as it stands, without citable evidence, the article must be written based on the primary source: What is shown on the show. If anyone can confirm the list of audition advancers from aired episodes, that would be great. TheHYPO (talk) 21:04, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, having just watched it, I can confirm that those are the only two that are shown to move on. And it wouldn't make any sense for NBC to push people on without showing it, so I'm just going to assume that it's vandalism of some sort. -Platypus Man | Talk 03:11, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The edit was well before NBC aired the episode, and two of the mentioned comics (Spear and Cullen) did make it through from Toronto. So it's hard to say whether it was vandalism or some other explaination (as I said, only two people moving on from those two cities seems odd, and Bellamy's production of "the last comic moving on" for only two comics seemed sketchy. I wouldn't put it past NBC to have moved comics on and then nixed them (They commonly ignore semi-finalists, not airing their first auditions or their semi performances, and they are only seen in long shots (Brian Lazanik was one example from last season, having returned this season). Another possible explaination might be that after being announced a finalist, it was determined that existing contracts or lack of a passport or some other commitment resulted in some people being inelligable. It's all speculation though. You've seen the kind of crap LCS has pulled in the past with their results procedures. TheHYPO (talk) 12:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Minor research brought up this article in which Lazanik claims to have been chosen as a finalist both last year AND this year (after the show urged him to tryout again), only to be subsequently cut. this article by YukYuks owner Mark Breslin also lists the same four finalists that were in this article. (it's a March article too - surprised he'd be allowed to post the results that early) TheHYPO (talk) 12:16, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Judges[edit]

If anyone noticed the names of the boxing challenge judges, that could be briefly added to the description of the challenge. TheHYPO (talk) 07:48, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
