Bowie and Walsh[edit]

Bowie did more than write the music and lyrics, he invented some of the new characters. Enda Walsh is only mentioned in this wiki article as having wrote the book; there isn't a book...yet https://www.thestage.co.uk/news/2016/book-and-lyrics-of-david-bowie-musical-lazarus-to-be-published/ but Walsh co-wrote Lazarus with Bowie http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37871935

I really think the article should reflect that Bowie and Walsh co-wrote Lazarus as it seems misleading at the moment, and also that Ivo Van Hove produced it https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2016/nov/06/ivo-van-hove-i-give-it-all-like-bowie-gave-it-all-in-a-masked-way-lazarus-interview

I totally agree. I'm sorry if I reverted this part of your edits on this. What I was avoiding doing was having citations in the lede (they're not necessary, unless they're for quotations), and I thought I was just moving stuff back down into the body. The sources are sound and the information should be included. Let me know if you'd like me to put the info back in, or if you'd like to do it. 87Fan (talk) 17:15, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to the dates of the London shows, the tickets have been on sale to the public for shows from 25th October. I realise that in the press they are referred to as previews, but literally anybody could buy a ticket, same as for any other dates so I'm not sure what the distinction is? It's probably not considered a reliable source on WP, but even the show's twitter bio https://twitter.com/Lazarus_Musical says:

"A musical by David Bowie and Enda Walsh. The Official Twitter account. Opens in London at @KXtheatre 25.10.16 TICKETS NOW ON SALE: http://www.lazarusmusical.com"

Given there are sources that mention that early shows were "previews," I think it's best to keep that information. Later sources may have glossed over that because it was no longer relevant ("who would care?") but as an encyclopedic source, we should. In my opinion, the references to preview dates should stay. Let me know what you think. 87Fan (talk) 17:15, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway, I'm not going to revert the reverts (I didn't realise about 1st party so thanks for that!) but I wanted to leave this here in case anybody else thinks this info is appropriate for the article. MarpoHarks (talk) 14:31, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for doing this! It's great to have a conversation instead of an edit war. 87Fan (talk) 17:15, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What happens between characters?[edit]

I'd particularly like to know which female character (Elly or girl/muse or other) sings solo in verse in Absolute Beginners. If you know the show, consider adding: synopsis, another column in the songs section &/or info in other way.Detailaware (talk) 19:16, 26 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
