Hesperian Deathhorse[edit]

I'm getting rid of it. The songs have a similar sound, sure, but inasmuch they probably use the Pumpkin chord. Vocally different, structure different and to be honest it sounds like a ploy on the part of Hesperian Deathhorse themselves (Check their MySpace blog)

Interpretation of video plot[edit]

Not trying to step on any toes, but I was wondering if there was a source behind the interpretation of the plot of the video, or if it was just a personal idea of what was going on. Agreed on the interpretation. Additionally the similarity to the 'plot' of Sonic Youth's Dirty Boots video is so striking, it's either an homage or a ripoff. Either way, required viewing for any subjective interpretation of plot. - KenChasse (talk) 15:43, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely not. Our two central characters are definitely not boyfriend and girlfriend. Laura sure is waiting there, hoping to meet *someone* special, and is *very* interested when Bobby walks in. However she plays things too cool. When Bobby smiles, hoping she'll smile back - hoping for the sparks that we in the audience see - his heart sinks when Laura ignores him. Music Angry. Bobby now plays it cool by walking out with his crew, instead of letting her notice his dejection. Bobby gains the upper hand by this move; when Laura realises her mistake, she rushes out of the club, worried this dude has fled the scene. All is forgiven when they lock eyes and agree the sparks were probably right. Walk-off and fade to black.

I agree there's a strong visual connection to Dirty Boots (in which the chemistry between /that/ Bobby and Laura is immediate); however it's also mutually acknowledged rather than pridefully deferred, as in Lazy Eye.

Who Plays "the Girl"?[edit]
