Influences Le déjeuner sur l'herbe: Les Trois Femmes Noires­– This collage is based on Thomas’ 2010 photograph of the same name. Photo version of “Le déjeuner sur l'herbe: Les Trois Femmes" Manet– Thomas’ piece is her take on the famous Monet painting “Le déjeuner sur l'herbe.” (Include photo) Matisse– Thomas claims her work is influenced by many artists including Matisse, whose sculptures are in the background of Thomas’ original photo (Landers 34).

Materials/composition Thomas is known to incorporate a mélange of materials into her paintings and collages, and this piece is no exception. Thomas utilizes acrylic, enamel, and wood paneling, and she embellishes the painting with rhinestones. The collage is 120 inches in height and 288 inches in width, and it incorporates a variety of patterns that are reminiscent of the 1970s when Thomas was growing up (Artsy.net).
