Talk:Lean thinking

Lean Thinking is separate and different from Lean production. For example, Lean Thinking can be applied to a service industry. It also applies to day to day life, such as the process one might choose in cooking in the kitchen, or gift wrapping packages. Lean production (see Lean manufacturing) is the application of Lean Thinking to manufacturing industries. User Cutler was wrong to merge Lean Thinking into Lean manufacturing. Lean manufacturing would be more appropriately labeled Lean production because it represents an advancement over Mass production which in turn represents some advances (and some draw backs) over Craft production.

Not an objective article[edit]

This article does not strike me as objective or neutral in flavour. It reads more like a brochure than a Wikipedia article, and is so firmly located within its "management speak" language that some passages seem largely without meaning outside that context. I will attempt some minor edits to help it read more objectively, but I do not have the subject matter expertise to go much further. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Grawnd100 (talkcontribs) 20:12, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 18 October 2015[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. Unopposed and the nom makes a good argument. Jenks24 (talk) 09:39, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lean ThinkingLean thinking – Please place your rationale for the proposed move here. Tony (talk) 11:10, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent casing in the article text. Distinctive per se. Not patented. Per WP:MOSCAPS ("Wikipedia avoids unnecessary capitalization") and WP:TITLE, this is a generic, common term, not a propriety or commercial term, so the article title should be downcased. "This is a tricky subject"[edit]

Under controversy, it talks about some of the potential (unreferenced) issues with lean management. If it's a tricky subject, why not explain it? This whole article will have to be rewritten eventually. Buffaboy talk 05:39, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This page should in some way be merged with the Lean Manufacturing one[edit]

The Lean Manufacturing page has all the sections I missed on this page Snorkop (talk) 10:53, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
