Video?[edit]

Perhaps comments I've found on Wikipedia to the effect that it's run by twenty-somethings may have some merit. I'm sure that this song predates at least a few of you, and that obsessing over "Somebody That I Used to Know" constitutes a far greater priority for mankind or whatever. This was a long time ago for those of us ancient enough to remember. Anyway, I believe that this was the song which had a video notable at the time for having eighteen versions. It was basically the same video, featuring the band in black suits singing against a white backdrop, with the "versions" representing only minor variances in certain shots. I faintly recall MTV celebrating April Fools Day by playing all eighteen versions consecutively and acting as if nothing out of the ordinary was going on. Multiple Videos/Promotion[edit]

I don't have any sources, just my memory -- and I was never even a Yes fan -- but it seemed to me at the time that MTV was just making a huge STINK about these videos, how there was something like 11(?) different versions of the video. As I recall it, this song was expected to be the next "Every Breath You Take" (which was really only one video, but with different tint settings to reflect the red/yellow/blue color scheme.) I think "Leave It", at least, had truly different videos. Anybody 40 or older, with a better memory than mine (or, an honest-to-God Yes fan of any age), please, now would be a good time to jump in with your thoughts.

Of course, I haven't made any changes to the article based on only my vague memories.

Versions of music video[edit]

The reason why I made this post is because the mention of '18 different variations' of the music video, which doesn't really go into detail into what made each of them unique. If anyone could find some information and/or make a list about what made each of them special, that would be nice.
