Hello, I am planning on reviewing this article for GA Status, over the next couple of days. Thank you for nominating the article for GA status. I hope I will learn some new information, and that my feedback is helpful.

If nominators or editors could refrain from updating the particular section that I am updating until it is complete, I would appreciate it to remove a edit conflict. Please address concerns in the section that has been completed above (If I've raised concerns up to references, feel free to comment on things like the lede.)

I generally provide an overview of things I read through the article on a first glance. Then do a thorough sweep of the article after the feedback is addressed. After this, I will present the pass/failure. I will use strikethrough tags when concerns are met. Even if something is obvious why my concern is met, please leave a message as courtesy.

Best of luck! you can also use the {{done}} tag to state when something is addressed. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 11:18, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please let me know after the review is done, if you were happy with the review! Obviously this is regarding the article's quality, however, I want to be happy and civil to all, so let me know if I have done a good job, regardless of the article's outcome.

Immediate Failures[edit]

  • It is a long way from meeting any one of the six good article criteria -  Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:52, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • It contains copyright infringements - Copyvio comes up clean.  Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:52, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • It has, or needs, cleanup banners that are unquestionably still valid. These include{{cleanup}}, {{POV}}, {{unreferenced}} or large numbers of {{citation needed}}, {{clarify}}, or similar tags. (See also {{QF-tags}}). - No tags Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:52, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • It is not stable due to edit warring on the page. - No signs of edit warring  Done Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:52, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Prose[edit]

Lede[edit]

  • "While capable of playing anywhere across the defensive line and in midfield" - this is quite technical for a lede IMO. "capable" isn't really NPOV for a lede in my eyes. Something more like, whilst Peltier has played in positions in defence and midfield, he primarily features at right-back or centre-back". Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • "After a single season" seems a bit vague, as he played around that length of time for Yeovil and Huddersfield. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Premier League should be linked. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • "He is also a former England under-18 international." I feel like this should be expanded. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Expanded slightly but there's not a while lot of information available for his caps.

Club career[edit]

Unfortunately not it would seem, I've searched quite considerably but there doesn't seem to be much to add. Kosack (talk) 19:10, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • .[10] Two months later, he made his Champions League debut for Liverpool against Galatasaray. He played the full 90 minutes at right-back as Liverpool lost 3–2 - for this to have happened, there must have been a huge shortage of players. Is there anything on why this happened? Playing in the Champions League is a ridiculously huge deal in comparison to some of the other pieces of information. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Liverpool had already confirmed qualification to the next round so the result was largely meaningless. As such, several reserve and youth players were given a run out. Kosack (talk) 19:10, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Although a right-back, Peltier played as a midfielder during an FA Cup match against Torquay United in November, but switched back to his original position against Gillingham after one week" - one match. One week would suggest multiple matches occourced in midfield. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC) - Reworded[reply]
  • Any ideas why he went on trial with Norwich despite being contracted to Liverpool? is this normal? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This is fairly common, usually when a young player's team has pretty much decided that they're not gonna be retained. This allows the youth player a better chance of finding a new team. Kosack (talk) 19:10, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • "small fee" isn't very encyclopedic. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC) -Reworded[reply]
  • "Despite his positive performancea, Peltier " - typo? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Despite his positive performancea, Peltier later admitted to suffering from homesickness during his spell with Yeovil having moved away from Liverpool for the first time,[23] commenting "I was quite happy with my football but [...] I struggled a bit and got quite homesick." - homesickness is mentioned twice. Could this be tightened? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:12, 12 August 2019 (UTC) -Trimmed[reply]
Huddersfield Town[edit]
  • being out with a dead leg - "being out" is kind of jargon. Something like "unavailable for play", or simply "injured" would sit better. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Not sure if this is a normal thing but refering to them as "town" is quite confusing, as he was playing for another "Town" in the previous section. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Link £. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Also link red card (I know it's only a concept dab... There might be a better destination). Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Town came from 1–0 down to win 2–1 with two goals in extra time - once a score is mentioned, don't change the order of the scores. It's quite confusing. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • helping the side reach the League One play-offs - League one play-offs are mentioned earlier, this is where it should be linked. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • winning goal during his league debut, in a 1–0 victory - "winning" and "victory don't both need to be there. Scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory is plenty. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 14:50, 14 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
Leeds United[edit]
  • "After much speculation regarding Peltier's position lf captain" - typo? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:14, 15 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • "After much speculation regarding Peltier's position lf captain, despite captaining Leeds during 2013–14 pre-season and for the opening two games of the season, Peltier was replaced in the role by teammate Rodolph Austin who returned to the side against Leicester City on 11 August 2013" this whole sentence needs better flow actually. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:14, 15 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Leeds announced that Peltier had signed for Nottingham Forest on loan, however Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi announced the same day that the deal hadn't been completed,[60] leading to confusion over which club Peltier was contracted to - "leading to" isn't quite right, there was clearly already some confusion. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:14, 15 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Peltier revealed upon his return to Leeds that he wasn't sure what his future would hold - I know this means afterwards, but it's placement is confusing, reads as though he went from being at Forrest back to Leeds, and then back on loan Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:14, 15 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • The image captions aren't my favourite. They seem more like altext than captions. Can they not read something like "Peltier playing for Leicester City in 2011, making 40 appearances."? Or similar? They just don't seem very helpful right now - the images don't show a lot. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:14, 15 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]

Rest of article prose[edit]

  • "a hard working defensive type of player who likes to tackle and pass the ball. I get about the pitch quite well and keep it simple." - The "I" in this quote is off, considering we are talking about the player can we use [He gets] about..? Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:17, 15 August 2019 (UTC) - Done[reply]
  • Peltier is close friends with fellow footballer James Vaughan. - Is this in any way notable? Footballers being friends with other footballers seems super unnotable. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:17, 15 August 2019 (UTC) - Removed [reply]

Comments[edit]

  • Automated note - If you fancy returning the favour, I have outstanding GA nominations that require reviewing at WP:GAN. I'd be very grateful if you were to complete one of these, however it's definately not manditory. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:17, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Looking forward to this one - he played at Yeovil town, my home club so quite interested in his history! Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 20:33, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Lee Vilenski: I think I've addressed all of the issues above, let me know if there's anything else. Kosack (talk) 19:35, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
