2014 public award[edit]

It seems that the 2014 public award has already been decided (to a Lithuanian photographer), but I can't find an impressive source for this. I imagine that there will be better sources within a few days. -- Hoary (talk) 06:27, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Articles that claim people won the award that aren't covered here[edit]

Both Arambilet and James Whitlow Delano claim they won this award but aren't included in this article. -Lopifalko (talk)

Good sleuthing; thank you.
I've fixed the obscurity around Delano.
The PDF that's the reference for Delano devotes an unusual degree of attention to an "honorable mention". It's clear that, at least for that one year, an "honorable mention" really meant something. I'd be happy for such honorable mentions to be added to the table(s) in the article. However, at least in the short term, I lack the energy to hunt for and add them.
Arambilet is quite the Renaissance man, no? The number and range of his achievements (alas unsourced) are extraordinary. Also interesting is the history of the article: a series of contributors exclusively interested in him: LEAM, Barloventocentre, Fundacionbarlovento. I splattered a few "Citation needed" flags on the article, but soon got bored. This page may be illuminating. -- Hoary (talk) 09:52, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
