Move?[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: Withdrawn; DAB page created after move request makes move unnecessary. TJRC (talk) 01:10, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Li Yi (footballer)Li Yi

  • move primary topic page over redirect pointing to it; I will follow-up with hatnote for Li Yi (sociologist) TJRC (talk) 01:23, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Page Li Yi has 7 choices. Is the footballer a dominant meaning? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:21, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose/Withdraw - I am the editor who requested the move. At the time I made the request, the target was a redirect back to this article (see [1]); and the target's history ([2]) showed that it previously existed as a DAB page with only two targets. The other target was Li Yi (sociologist), and the athlete was clearly more prominent than the sociologist. My move request was to clean up, so that the sociologist article could be found when someone searched on "Yi Li". After I made the edit request, an anon editor made a much more comprehensive dab page ([3]). I have no opinion on whether there is a primary topic among the seven entries now listed there; and the objective of unhiding the sociologist article is better-met by the new comprehensive dab page. I am closing this per WP:RMCI: [I]t is fine for a discussion participant to close a requested move in the following circumstances... If the nominator wishes to withdraw a proposal about which no one has yet commented, or which is unanimously opposed. In this case, the nominator may close the discussion as "withdrawn".
