I need spelling help!: I'm new to Wikipedia and don't even really know how to ask for help. My question is this---what is the right way to reflect the fact that Liel Liebovitz' father has his first and last names spelled two different ways in English? Liel himself spells his father's name "Rony Leibovitz." Rony's famous in Israel as the Motorcycle Bandit and even has a postage stamp with a really cool picture of him on it. But in the press his first name is sometimes spelled Rony, Roni and Ronnie. And his last name is sometimes spelled Leibowitz and other times with a v instead of w: Leibovitz. Even in the English Wikipedia article his name is spelled different ways---the title has it one way and the article has it another way. What to do? My thanks in advance to anyone who can help! @Bruriyah: I don't think that belongs in this article. After all, the father's article is already linked. Seems a bit out of focus to go into such detail here (see WP:WEIGHT). Rather such alternate names should be listed in the father's biography, and anyone who clicks on the link from here will be informed of alternate spellings there. We usually list alternate names, spellings, nicknames, and so on in the first sentence (see generally Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biographies). Maybe something like:
Rony Leibovitz (Hebrew: רוני ליבוביץ, his given name sometimes spelled Ronnie or Roni and his surname sometimes as Leibowitz)...

Actually only one of the references in Ronnie Leibowitz' article spelled his name; I have made that article consistent with that source. The issue likely is one of transliteration from the Hebrew; there's not much of a reason to expect consistency on that point. For this article I'd suggest using [[Ronnie Leibowitz|Ronnie Leibovitz]]. Cool! Thank you so much for your help. I figured this might be a special case because Hebrew uses a different alphabet. I just think it's worth mentioning his father because his family is apparently quite well known and Liel himself wrote a fabulous article about his dad, his relationship with him and what his celebrity is like. Might be of interest as the article expands…Thanks again! Bruriyah (talk) 03:54, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware of Liel Leibovitz' writings. In fact both this article and his father's rely far too heavily on Leibovitz' own writings instead of third-party coverage. Huon (talk) 11:12, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

The attention paid to A broken hallelujah in major media alone is enough to establish notability. Removing tag.E.M.Gregory (talk) 17:32, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
