The Lincoln Continental Mark V Designer Editions sections[edit]

Clearly I have a strong affinity for these vehicles and felt it necessary to expand the informational text of this article. Previously, I have added the "Collector's Series" information, the "Diamond Jubilee Edition" information, and, more recently, the "Miles-To-Empty" feature information. These were absolutely beautiful cars.MJEH (talk) 01:03, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe if you want a thorough and factual unbiased page, then the more information presented (in detail) that is first and foremost a true account of the vehicle from that era (and not a personal opinion, as was stated in the issues - the expansion of the year by year changes section I wrote, replaced information that was factually incorrect. I used to work for Lincoln Mercury back in the day, so if the "specific audience' as it's referred to in the issues, isn't that what Wikipedia is all about, learning the most you can from references that interests that target audience, in this case, the 77-79 Continental Mark V. Weight[edit]

Seems to me the weight of the car compared to the mk iv is not really a significant part of the article. Maybe something stemming from a forum argument somewhere. The section should probably be incorporated into the article body, as a table, and without the information on the mk iv weight. I'm not sure most people who come to this page do so because they want an in-depth analysis of the year-to-year weight fluctuations of an old Lincoln. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.172.17.140 (talk) 16:47, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can agree with that reasoning entirely; while it doesn't need to be relegated to a footnote, it shouldn't be half the lead section of the article (as it sits now). That's just one of the things that needs to be fixed in the article, starting from the ground up. --SteveCof00 (talk) 07:09, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Updating the article/explaining the tags[edit]

When looking at this article with a neutral point of view, it is one that is overtaken by one thing: the explanation of the (numerous?) special editions of this car that were offered. It's not that that is necessarily disagreeable, but not only 3/4 of the article dedicated towards this subject, but what is written about them reads almost like a dealer brochure. A little balance would be desirable, with perhaps a greater amount of information about the Lincoln Continental Mark V itself (its development, specifications, and production?). Again, let's just try to balance things out here. --SteveCof00 (talk) 11:20, 23 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the page While it may look like a lot of information is gone, it's still here. It's just a lot better formatted and can show things side by side without having to scroll endlessly. For now, this clears out a LOT of room to make this an article about the car itself, about its development, mechanical layout, etc. In other words, it can now be like a good car article on here. --SteveCof00 (talk) 10:47, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
