Victories verified[edit]

Page 58, Above the War Fronts, specifically verifies two of five victories for Ashfield.

On 18 May 1918, Ashfield was piloting Airco DH.4 s/n A7868 with A G L Allen as his observer, when they drove down an enemy scout out of control over Burges.

On 31 May 1918, he was piloting DH.4 s/n D8402 with Lt. Russell as observer, when they drove down an enemy aircraft out of control over Ostende.
