Melbourne Heart / City[edit]

I do not feel you can retrospectively change the name/colours of a club prior to its change. Engelaar's goal was for the Heart. Matilda Maniac (talk) 01:10, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I totally agree. I am getting rather sick of the rewriters of history claiming achievements for City that occurred long before the club had that name. It's just plain silly. HiLo48 (talk) 03:34, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-season cup addition[edit]

While it's a pretty minor honour and not really prestigious, it's still silverware so I think it should be added as a new honour in the Club Honours section, but not included in the honours total table. Thoughts? Ideas? --TinTin (talk) 23:11, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It was a pre-season friendly tournament much like the recent Townsville Football Cup or the Sydney Festival of Football. I don't think it needs mentioning. I think this article should really be for competitive league matches only, not just any match/competition played by A-League clubs.--2nyte (talk) 00:29, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree the tournaments you mention only involved one or two A-League Clubs. The A-League Pre-Season Challenge Cup involved all the clubs at the time and was officially sanctioned by the league, both of which are significant differentiations to the tournaments you mentioned. --TinTin (talk) 00:54, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I understand what you are saying but my main point is that I think this article should remain solely for honours won/awarded in the A-League competition. I never really like crossing information between article. Why can't the A-League Pre-Season Challenge Cup info say on that article? I don't really see it necessary to include the info here. Maybe we can just link the A-League Pre-Season Challenge Cup article in the 'See also' section of this article.--2nyte (talk) 04:12, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no worries. Happy with that.  :) --TinTin (talk) 00:44, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
