List[edit]

List created as per discussion on Boardwalk Empire article. Because of the strong historical basis for the characters a table is being utilized.--Hutcher (talk) 20:58, 23 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Characters[edit]

Some significant characters are missing, like Manny Horvitz — Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.39.139.97 (talk) 07:31, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WRONG[edit]

Jimmy is entirely fictional as is Van Alden. Terrence Winter and Michael Pitt confirmed this! — Preceding unsigned comment added by JimmyDarmodyRules (talkcontribs) 17:27, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Johnson and Osbeck 1941.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Johnson and Osbeck 1941.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 23 November 2011

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Historical notes[edit]

I recommend removing the "historical notes" section of the table. The characters that are based on real people have been changed so much that it is difficult to compare them to the original. At any rate, the links to the real people are more than adequate, and anyone interested can read the corresponding article. The "historical notes" are irrelevant to the fiction stories of the characters on the tv show. ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 03:07, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Having received no response in the past 16 days, I am going to proceed with the changes I proposed above. ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 16:25, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mrs. McGarry[edit]

I don't see how the character of Mrs. McGarry could possibly be based on Susan B. Anthony, given that Ms. Anthony died in 1906 and the show is set in the 1920s. I've not identified any temperance proponent with a known affilation to Atlantic City. I propose to change this to "no historical basis" unless someone can provide a reference. Colonel Mayfair (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:18, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I find that claim highly dubious. ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 01:51, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
