Phyllis Crane[edit]

"Although Sister Ursula leaves and Phyllis is reinstated as deputy sister in charge again."

That sentence makes no sense.

Improvements to table - All Characters, First Episode & Last[edit]

I think all characters (Past and Present) should be included in the table so the reader can see an overview of all characters.

To make it clear about whether they have left or not I think two new columns should be added - First episode and last or latest episode. This would clearly show the reader when the character was on the show. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nozzle02 (talkcontribs) 18:50, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

One more[edit]

Hi. What about Cyril Robinson? IKhitron (talk) 02:51, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A month and a half later. Looks like nobody cares about this article. So I edited it by myself. Added two characters, hidden one that can't be recurring as appeared in two episodes only, but did not touched Cheryl Campbell and Harriet Walter, they appeared in three episodes only. Hello, everybody. After a couple of problems in the cast table that happened last week, I've decided to check all the data over there. I've found dozens of problems. So, I rewrote the table, and I'm going to replace it in a couple of days. I'd like to be sure that this time it's fine, so I ask you to tell me if you can see something wrong. I'll fix it according to your comments. I can't say I'm sure the table is completely right this time, because there were places I did not know what to do, so I solved is as I could. Here are the rules I've used:

  1. Main roles per Call the Midwife article.
  2. Otherwise, the role is recurring in season if there are at least three appearances in this season.
  3. Otherwise, the role is guest.
  4. For season 11, the role is recurring for now if it was recurring in season 10, otherwise it's guest for now.

If you're interested which roles were changed exactly, you can read User:IKhitron/sandbox#List. Thanks a lot in advance. IKhitron (talk) 17:18, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A week later, replacing it. Thanks to everyone. Please feel free to fix any mistakes. Now I'm going to check more issues, like exact names and stand-in children. IKhitron (talk) 21:45, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
N3. Aftermath season 11. Edited Tim Turner and Colette Corrigan. Same request, please. IKhitron (talk) 22:45, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A year later[edit]

A year later. I've added a column for the new season and filled it according to the existing reliable sources for the 2022 Christmas Special. After the broadcast in three weeks, I'll fix it if needed to be fixed and replace the current table. For now, it's in the draft User:IKhitron/sandbox. If you find mistakes, you are welcomed to fix them in the draft, or say here. IKhitron (talk) 17:01, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

And one more. IKhitron (talk) 19:54, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think there maybe rules broken by me in this table, don't know. I've asked on Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Television#List of Call the Midwife characters, but still get no answer. IKhitron (talk) 19:11, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why do main characters just "disappear"?[edit]

I understand cast changes but why is there never an add to the next episode addressing their absence instead of pretending they never existed? My only complaint is this really poor handling of cast disappearances Bwestbroker (talk) 18:15, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
