Merger with Postman Prat[edit]

I think that postman prat is a good comic strip and with some more comics more information can be found about him and be added on here. I do not think it should be merged. Beandand (talk) 17:37, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

merge I think it should be merged with the list of Dandy comic strips because at the moment the whole of the Postman Prat article would easily fit into the notes section of the table on the Postman Prat bit. It could be granted it's own article if there is enough information out there for it or too much for the notes section. Eopsid (talk) 22:01, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I have proposed a number of mergers of small stubby articles into this one. This is for two reasons firstly most of those articles would be changed to redirects and in many cases have been changed to redirects with all information contained within them being lost (except in the history) and being in this article would save the information in the pages some of which is already duplicated in this article. Secondly because these articles are small then their entire contents would easily fit into their sections on this page and once there is a lot of information about a specific strip on this list then it would be right to create its own article.Eopsid (talk) 13:48, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think Owen Goal should be merged into here. The article actually contains references and is a lot less stubby than articles on Dandy strips which aren't proposed to be merged. Eopsid (talk) 18:19, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger with Pre-Skool Prime Minister[edit]

This article needs to be expanded.[edit]

Why do we not have a list of all of the strips that have appeared over the years, along with year and artist, just like the Beano one? This one is a jumble of just some strips that have appeared over the years, why have the likes of Smitten, Nobody's Child, Bear Behind and Snoop Dawg, if you dont have all the rest? 86.148.147.87 (talk) 18:35, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The only reason they arent here is because there is not enough information to add them. If you know the artist a strip's name and when it appeared even approximately add them to the list. I would greatly expand this list but i lack the relevant info unless i were to get my hands on a Dandy Monster Index (which is similiar to that index at the back of the History of the Beano) Eopsid (talk) 20:59, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are some of these indexes available on ebay at the moment but they only go upto 1990 at the moment. The only way to find out the rest is by collecting 21 years worth of comics. Eopsid (talk) 21:02, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just added a recentism tag. This can be sorted out by using a copy of The Art and History of the Dandy. The index is up to date to at least 2007 (thus, the Dandy Monster Index is now obsolete), but after that, it gets spotty, there are omissions in the final five years of the comic's run. I was planning on updating it with the info from The Art and History of the Dandy but have yet to get round to it. Also I think there maybe a few omissions inbetween 1985-2007 because it doesnt show strips that are less than one page (or something similiar the book uses a different terminology which I cant quite recall and I do not have it to hand) like the mini-strips which appeared in the comic after the Hoot merger.
