confirmation on 100 episodes?

I cannot find a single official source that states Kai will only be 100 episodes as mentioned in the "did you know" area. Seeing as how Freeza just ended and nearly at episode 60 it seems doubtful that even Cell will be before episode 100 and even more unlikely that Boo will also be concluded in that span. When they said they were excluding whole sagas I'm pretty sure they meant only those not in the manga at all but not one of the four majors.

I only ask for one though because people see this and really think it will be only 100 episodes even though its not in the article itself(I dont think).74.38.154.31 (talk) 01:24, 19 May 2010 (UTC)tkl

When the series was first announced by Shonen Jump, the episode count was stated to be precisely a hundred total. But in the resent announcement by their video distributor Happinet, that their were planing to released at least 99 episode. Also you can't presume to know the fate of the rest of the story with current episode count re-polished series. There no telling what's going to be cut and what's going to be kept in. The filler material has been confirmed as being discarded from this series. as you may or not see the Z Warrior prepare story where Vegeta ascends to Super Saiyan for the first time was not featured and was skipped to the first encounter with #19 #20/Doctor Gero. So as for whether or not this chopped format will be contained within 99 or a hundred episodes can only be said as yes, only because Toei and Happinet said so, and we have to go with that until they either say otherwise. Saying that it doesn't appear that it will is an opinion and fall under original research, which we can't use here. Sarujo (talk) 05:28, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't have any evidence one way or another, but I agree that only 100 episodes seems unlikely. Right now, they are about a third done with DBZ episode content, but are already past episode 70 of 100 when it comes to DBZ Kai.Cylith (talk) 20:15, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Would everybody stop with the opinionated comments regarding the episode total. The series was planed for a hundred episodes as told by Jump. Whether or not you think that they will finish before the magic number is irrelevant. So everybody needs to stop with complaints cause the information is not going anywhere, and anybody who tries to remove it will be deemed a vandal. Enough said. US Airdates

They really need to be updated. A bunch of episodes that already aired still say TBA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.115.251.139 (talk) 00:24, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

There are no sources, so no add. Sarujo (talk) 01:11, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
There don't need to be sources. There are no sources for the airdates in List of Dragon Ball Z episodes, List of Digimon Adventure episodes and many others, either. Do you suggest we remove all of those and replace them with "TBA" as well? Euphgeek (talk) 03:45, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
No, Other stuff exists is not a valid argument, and will not be used here. Sarujo (talk) 03:50, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
So what do you suggest if there is never any valid source for the airdates? Leaving them as "TBA" in perpetuity? What about if the NickToons press release expires from their website? Do we remove the airdates from the first eight episodes and replace them with TBA? If you really insist on references which may or may not be forthcoming, we can just put the dates in with a [citation needed] tag on them. Euphgeek (talk) 04:03, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Where are the airdates and why have they removed? It seems according to precedent acceptable to show air-dates minus the source. (talk) 18:37, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Airdates and episode titles

I have replaced the Nick source with the MSN TV source which has the airdates and titles for all of the episodes thus far. So there shouldn't be anymore problems with the airdates. Also, if a source is needed for the English titles, shouldn't it be the same for the Japanese titles? And shouldn't the official English titles come before the unofficial translated titles? 追人 18:39, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Please fix spelling error

Porunga is spelled Polunga for episode 36 in the bold title for that episode, which is wrong. Could someone please correct it? Once you fix it you can delete this message from the discussion. 24.144.148.37 (talk) 05:31, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Uncut Kai

Okay, I don't mean to seem rude, but what's up with constantly editing out my source showing that there is an uncut version of Kai? I've had people tell me it's a bad source, but they NEVER explain why. They just say it is, and then delete it. Let's look at the facts.

1) It's the OFFICIAL PRODUCT LISTING. That means it's a description that comes directly from the company itself, FUNimation. THEY are saying it's uncut, not a fan. Amazon Listing: http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Kai-Part-Blu-ray/dp/B003SE6VVC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1291764538&sr=8-2

2) In the interest of fairness, my original source, which linked to the first volume of Kai uncut, did not specifically mention that it was uncut. So I changed it to link to "Season 1, Part 2," which DOES specifically mention that it is uncut. And that's just on the official product description. Nevermind the giant sticker that flat-out says that it's uncut (you'll also notice that this giant sticker is on the front of the box on the official Amazon that people claim is a "bad source"): http://blog.funimation.com/2010/12/dragon-ball-z-kai-part-3-clips-posted/

They have not been clear--in the slightest--how this is poorly sourced. They just say it is, and accuse me of vandalism. However, I'm sympathetic to people only having so much room to write why they make certain edits in the edit box, so I figured I would ask people on the talk page, where we can write as elaborately as we want. Why, pray tell, are my sources bad? Unless somebody can provide me with a good explanation, I hardly see my research as vandalism and will post the source up again in a heartbeat. We can't just mislead people into thinking that Kai is shown on TV completely uncensored, because many fans have that impression right now. Failing to mention that it is edited on TV and uncut on DVD hardly makes the article comprehensive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheBlackPaladin (talkcontribs) 01:09, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

First off, there is no such thing as an official Amazon. Most of the stuff that they feature is cut and paste. Second, at best, Amazon is a borderline source used only in certain situations. With that said, it not the heart of why I keep removing it. Adding just a link to a website within a reference tag is poor souring no matter how you look at it. Lastly, when someone asks you to stop an action and you continue the act, it is disruptive vandalism regardless of your intentions. Sarujo (talk) 19:23, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Sarujo is right about the source. Amazon product pages should only be used as last resort sources for uncontroversial information. However, using bare URLs as references is sloppy at worst and never an argument for removal of any information. Also, the behavior described is not vandalism. (See WP:NOTVAND.) What you've been doing is edit warring (which is forbidden). And with you I mean both of you. Goodraise 22:11, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

"Kai is only going to be 100 Episodes" is a Rumor. Stop adding it

For some reason, people keep adding in this little "Fact" that Kai will "reduce the total episode count from 291 to 100". This is blatantly false, and nobody has a real source on it, and I have two very good reasons Why:

1: The Happinet official DVD site currently says the Cell arc will be ending at episode 98
2: There is one more Arc after the Cell arc that can, under no circumstances, be fit into only one episode.

Aside from the fact that there is no reason for them to end the series at the end of the Cell arc, EITHER WAY the series is not the "100 episodes" this Article keeps stating. It didn't say "About 100" it said flatly, "100". Stop adding that until there is some kind of confirmation the series is (for SOME reason) ending at Cell. And then, if that happens, put the right number. 98.DemonRin (talk) 04:14, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

When the series was first announced in V Jump, it stated that 100 episodes were planed. This is fact. The line about being reduced from 291 to 100 comes from that article. So I'd highly suggest to to stop removing that statement as it is a highly sourced statement. If you have a problem with this proven factoid then I'd suggest taking it up with Shueisha. Granted additional information that the video distributors now say 99. Still you need reliable sources for that. Sarujo (talk) 05:02, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Has anyone actually seen this V-Jump article? Nothing confirming 100 episodes has been released in any official capacity. And considering we're in the late-80s and the Cell arc is nowhere near done... 82.3.109.181 (talk) 00:15, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
I have the original V-Jump article and No, it wasn't stated in the article at all.. The Original V-Jump announcement did not say anything about the episode count. After it was released, people on 2ch (The Japanese message board this stuff gets leaked too) Started speculating it would be "Around 100 episodes", and the rumor spread like wildfire.
This is the original V-Jump Article. And for added levity, here's the second V-Jump Article. Where do you see ANYTHING about the Episode count?! Because I sure don't. Barring the fact that I can read it all, every time they reference a number, they use English Numbers, like 1,2,3, etc. Do you see "100" in there?!
Essentially, what happened is, Japanese fan rumor on 2ch started buzzing, and someone dropped the number "100" and since it's a nice round number, it stuck. But at this point, with the information we have now, the Official Japanese Happinet (Company doing the BDs/DVDs for Kai) website says the "Artificial Human - Cell Chapter" will end at episode 98.
It doesn't say "Series end" it says "BOX4 - 人造人間・セル編" (Box4 - Artificial Humans - Cell Chapter) ends at 98.
We also know that this series is intended to be an "HD Remaster and Recut of Dragon Ball Z That removes the filler". The Boo arc was NOT FILLER. There is one more story arc after the "Cell" chapter called the "Boo" Chapter. which we have no word on one way or the other yet. Why are you so dead-set on the series ending at 100? The source material is not gone yet, there is a WHOLE other ARC to do that CANNOT Be fit into two episodes. It was a bunch of Fan speculation on 2ch right around the time the V-Jump article hit that people like you erroneously state was part of the article. So PLEASE stop spreading this Fan-rumor.DemonRin (talk) 00:21, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Title Ep #17

I know the titles are similar but shouldn't this one read "Dawn of the Fierce Battle...The Planet of Hope Is Piccolo's Homeland"/"Dawn of a Fierce Battle...The Star of Hope Is Piccolo's Homeland"
The pattern established seems to be have both the translated and dubbed titles even if they are basically the same (for example see eps #20 or better yet #34). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.254.77.254 (talk) 21:00, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

That's sourcing a fansite. Sarujo (talk) 20:14, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
I have to agree. Unless they have for some strange reason decided to declare the entire Boo arc as filler there is no way that the show can be finished by episode 98.--76.66.189.59 (talk) 03:41, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
In a situation like this I highly suggest using Kanzentai's source, TV Pia magazine, and not Kanzentai or ToonZone. As TV Pia is where this information is coming from. Sarujo (talk) 19:00, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Or we could also just wait a few weeks and see whether episode 99 airs or not. If it does air it will be in 3 weeks or slightly later if the show is prempted due to coverage of the earthquake.--76.66.189.59 (talk) 20:15, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Misleading information

The article says ...reducing the total episode count from 291 to 97. This information is wrong. Dragon Ball Kai covers the Dragon Ball Z series up to episode 193. From 194 to 291 the Kai series does not cover. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.162.237.178 (talk) 19:15, 4 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, it's ridiculous and needs to be fixed. It should read something to the effect of "The Kai series adapts episode 1-193 of the Dragon Ball Z anime series. The overal cuts to filler and extra material cuts the overall content down to 97 episodes. Episodes 194-291 of the Dragon Ball Z anime were not adapted as part of Kai."65.203.128.130 (talk) 22:16, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Episode 98's fate sealed

The official DVD website has announced that they will release the preempted episode, Mirai ni Heiwa o! Gokū no Tamashī yo Towa ni (未来に平和を!悟空の魂よ永遠に, Bring Peace to the Future! The Spirit of Goku is Forever), on the vol 15 DVD and fourth DVD boxset later this August. This gives me high hopes for a stateside broadcast, but only time will tell. All right...

There are some issues going on around here. First of all, the Dragon Ball Z Kai link is a redirect and we should never link those, since this is already redirected on the article itself. As for the air dates, we should use original broadcast air dates, not the DVD release dates. They are further mentioned down below. As for the DVD release section, we should also include Japanese and English releases as well. Rather than getting into an edit war here, I am taking the WP:BRD route and start a discussion here to see if other users can voice their opinions on this matter. Any comments or objections. Name Change

Perhaps I've missed something, but... The character referred to as "Mr. Satan" in the episode guides is referred to as "Hercule" in the actual Funimation Entertainment "DB Z Kai" episodes, as aired on Nicktoons (in the US). Probably the name was changed to avoid the (English) name of the theological character. He is also "Hercule" in the "DB GT" episodes. I hesitate to tamper with the actual List entry, as there may be a good reason for the difference; but I thought it should be mentioned. Reginald10 (talk) 23:09, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

That might be so, but he is still called "Mr. Satan" in the original DBZ series and even in the English Dubbed version of DBGT. I believe that the name was dubbed for theological reasons, however, we cannot change the characters name just because of this one redubbing. LightandDark2000 (talk) 03:06, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
