Season 5

Hey guys, I updated and added season 5, and because of the fake episode names from a while back, i want to say that this came from 100% accurate resource, the damnyouall.net forums.

Plot summaries (moved from the very top of page)

I agree with 141.217.173.179 that all the plot summaries need to be rephrased. He/she already did season 3, disc 3, I think we need to rephrase all the other ones so that they're different from what the box says. Also, when season 4 starts airing, we should write the plot summaries as soon as the end credits roll (though I think perhaps plenty others were already thinking of doing that). air dates

Good idea. The region 1 release lists them on the individual cases. I could add them in together with the task of making sure that the plot summaries here are different from the ones on the box. Cromulent Kwyjibo 20:53, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Another source is <http://www.tv.com/family-guy/show/348/episode_guide.html&season=3>. I would take the air dates listed on the DVD box as gospel except when it comes to the episode "When You Wish Upon A Weinstein", which I vaguely seem to recall having seen on the local FOX station here but the box claims was never aired. On the other hand, TV.com says the episode "A Fish Out Of Water" aired September 19, 2001, but if I recall correctly, eight days after the terrorist attack on New York, all TV stations were still broadcasting round-the-clock news coverage. Second cancellation: say it ain't so

for the show is coming to a close on August 28, 2005.

Is this true? Wouldn't it be a waste to come back on the air only to leave again so soon? I don't want this show to suffer the same fate as The Simpsons, but I thought that Family Guy could make it to season 7 and still be good. Cromulent Kwyjibo 28 June 2005 21:25 (UTC)

• No that is incorrect information which I have removed before but it looks like it got back in. Details of 4th season episodes have not been released, apart from their titles, and besides the last episode of this season is called "Desperate Houseowners" not "Desperate Animators". the wub "?/!" 29 June 2005 08:06 (UTC)

Don't Make Me Over

I still have no idea who Joe and Cleveland are trying to be. For a while I thought maybe Cleveland is Jimi Hendrix, but judging by the picture of Hendrix here on Wikipedia, Cleveland looks a little too plain to be Hendrix. Cromulent Kwyjibo 17:24, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

Desperate Animators

I don't like the looks of this one... but I'm sure there will be a cliche in which the family kills Seth MacFarlane or something. Maybe Death (as in the character) will be involved. I don't like the looks of this either. It sounds like the non-logged in user 24.137.109.146 is trying to perpetuate the hoax of "Desperate Animators" as the series finale. A logged in user, The Wub, claims the correct title is Desperate Houseowners and that it's only a season finale. I'm more inclined to believe a logged in user. OK, I only really thought it was Desperate Houseowners because that was what was in the article before, and the plot of "Desperate Animators" sounded a little too weird even for Family Guy. But having done a little further digging I've come up with something that could solve the dispute - the episode doesn't exist at all! Nor do any of the others below Model Misbehaviour in the article! They were all posted by an anon [2] and edited by anons and none of them get any google hits except Wikipedia mirrors. The official list is here, (scroll down to Friday September 17, 2004). Besides if FOX couldn't show Wishing On A Weinstein, I can't see how they would show an episode titled "Masturbation Bowl". the wub "?/!" 3 July 2005 22:08 (UTC)

Jacket copy gone

I'm happy to report that this article is now fully GDFL-compliant. The last traces of copying the DVD jacket plot summaries have now been excised. Cromulent Kwyjibo 17:30, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Article size

This article is growing more massive than Peter himself. Perhaps it should be split into separate articles by season? -DynSkeet (talk) 12:51, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

I don't like the idea of splitting it into separate articles by season, because I think it's useful to have one single list of all the show's episodes. In my humble opinion, it would be better to shorten the article by condensing the plot summary of each episode down to one line after the more complete plot summary has been moved into an article about the episode in question. My suggestion is based on the understanding that there are Wikipedians who intend to create articles on each episode of the show. Robert Happelberg 20:14, 9 August 2005 (UTC)

Jungle Love sets good precedent

I was pleased by the early history of the article on the episode "Jungle Love". Too often has an article on a just-aired episode been hastily written in a sloppy way by an anonymous user and nominated for deletion the next minute. With this episode, on the other hand, a stub with appropriate placeholders was staged a couple of days before the airdate and the anonymous users who predictably expanded the stub after the episode was aired did so in an orderly fashion.

So I think as a matter of policy, we should always be one episode ahead with a stub filled out with all the standard boilerplate ready. Robert Happelberg 19:36, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

Next episode: Father, Son & Holy Fonz (not Brian Sings...)

According to familyguy.com, the next new episode to air will be "Father, Son & Holy Fonz." Only a small difference from "The Father, the Son and the Holy Fonz," but we need to be in agreement as to which one should be the article and which one the redirect before any articles are created.

Also, I don't see anything about "Brian Sings and Swings" at familyguy.com. The episode is mentioned at planet-familyguy.com, which has shown itself to be a reliable source in the past.
