Requested Move September 5, 2022[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Moved. It really should've been a technical request, and I have no idea why the TR was declined. Sceptre (talk) 17:47, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team ChampionshipList of IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions – The list should be titled List of IWGP Heavyweight Champions not List of IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. But since the former is a redirect, you can't move it. Plus the latter is how these lists are titled. You wouldn't have a list of IWGP Heavyweight Champions as List of IWGP Heavyweight Championship. It makes no sense logically. I am submitting it to uncontroversial technical requests. No reason why it would be controversial. Just standard stuff that should have been done awhile ago. • Support. This is straightforward. Dr. Vogel (talk) 11:45, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support It was a disruptive move. --Mann Mann (talk) 14:35, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. This could probably be handled as a technical request to revert an undiscussed (and grammatically atrocious incorrect) move. oknazevad (talk) 15:21, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Oknazevad, I already listed it (twice I may add) and both times "declined." I made a discussion here to cover my bases. Another option is to try and get the redirect deleted to make way for the move. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 19:29, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No idea why it would have been declined, but being that erroneous decision was made then this is the way to handle it. It's definitely a correct move. oknazevad (talk) 19:44, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Just for the record, the technical request at WP:RM/TR was declined because @Mr. C.C.: put in the request there after this RM had already been started, as two different editors explained there. For future reference, one method or the other should be used, but not both at the same time. Station1 (talk) 06:42, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Station1, why is that a big deal? It's a technical request which should not be declined either way. Plus, there is nothing anywhere stating that you shouldn't start a discussion when making a technical request. The page was moved back to the correct title as you can see. I discovered that after the fact the move that someone moved it to the wrong name. That meant it could only be done through technical requests which I've never needed to go through prior. Again, there is nothing stating a discussion can't be started. If that's a big deal, that should be outlined on the technical requests page. But it isn't, so they're in the wrong. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 07:59, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a big deal at all. I was just explaining why it happened and how to avoid the same thing happening in the future. Station1 (talk) 16:37, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Mr. C.C. It seems to be you making it bigger deal than it should be, e.g. User talk:Sceptre#Page Move (complete with MOS:SCAREQUOTES) and User talk:Kj_cheetham#Page Move. It is not inherently wrong to post at both places, but it will not be processed at both places. As per WP:PCM if there is discussion it won't be processed as a technical request. Also pinging Sceptre for awareness as the closer. -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:09, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting a disruptive move which the above move discussion is based on[edit]

A request to revert an undiscussed move was filed at WP:RM/TR (Special:Permalink/1110061579) to revert to the title List of IWGP Tag Team Champions. The undiscussed move done on August 10 was List of IWGP Tag Team ChampionsList of IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship, which was subsequently the subject of the requested move discussion above. If the request to revert was done earlier or if the above discussion was not closed earlier than the customary 7 days, the discussion above would have most likely be rendered moot. This move back to the original title before the August 10 move should not be seen as overriding the consensus above, since the crux of the discussion above i.e. "Championship" → "Champions" is different from the request to revert. If there should be a discussion to move back to List of IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, please do so at the parent topic's (IWGP Tag Team Championship) talk page as a bundle. – robertsky (talk) 10:58, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
