AFD[edit]

This list has been copied from Pink Floyd and expanded a bit. I have never seen a personnel list separated out from a band's main article before. Personnel changes in PF are not terribly major compared to other bands, considering their longevity. They have had only 5 members in their years of recording, and all 5 were in the band at once, at one point. I don't really feel a chart was necessary in the main article; it used to be just a list, and someone went to the trouble to make a chart out of it a few months ago. At the time, I said it seemed redundant, but let it stand. Making it a separate article, or even a more detailed chart, seems doubly redundant.

Sorry if my edit summary on Pink Floyd was brusk; what I meant by this article being wrong, is that it states this is a "complete chronology" which is almost certainly untrue. In the band's early days, a number of non-notable members came and went. This is why there is no vocalist shown for line-ups before Syd Barrett joined, and no bass guitar in the first line-up. They no doubt had vocalists and bass guitarists in their early days, but exactly who they were, and when they were members, is essentially lost information. This was more or less explained in the article, but separating it out and calling it a complete chronology kind of obscures that part of the story.

Rebooting[edit]

I have started to redo the article per the suggestion at Talk:Pink Floyd here. As you can see, it is still skeleton, but I am going to be bold and add everybody who has been documented as a performing part of Pink Floyd whether in studio or band, outside of the small and very well known core set. For now, let's do the obvious, and sort out the more difficult / contentious stuff such as whether or not Ron Geesin can be considered a "Pink Floyd band members" later. I have no idea how to do this, but it really ought to be split into two, with the actual core band members in one portion and all of the touring and studio musicians in another, separate table. Also, Claire Torry is missing. The Master ---)Vote Saxon(--- 02:36, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
