Adding Summaries[edit]

Everything has been set up for us to start writing. Hopefully this will turn out looking nice. --Makaio 04:53, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, didn't see this page before. Nice work, its looking good.

I think the series is set around 1846 when Commodore Biddle tried to anchor two warships in Edo Bay. That would give seven years for Commodore Perry to get there and that would be consistent with when Cartwright codified the game of baseball in 1845.

The Table[edit]

I'm having a bit of a problem. I tried doing some more episode summaries today, but this new table has me confused. I don't know if i'm screwing up the titles or if i'm actually writing in the place the summary is supposed to go... so if anyone can respond to this sometime soon, it would be great. -- Makaio 23:28, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, because I'm stupid and disfunctional, i'm going to be experimenting with the page for a bit. -- Makaio 23:33, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, end of experimentation, what I'm trying to come up with now is a way to keep the page organized and keep the same good info that is in the table; but also get rid of the table. So if anyone sees the episode page, please think to come here and see this! And please comment on what you think should happen. My main goal is to make the episode page easier to use and edit... that may or may not be a good thing, but hey, thats why reverts exist. -- Makaio 20:43, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You have way too much stuff in the section titles. What was the reason to get rid of the episode template again? They were instituted by WP:ANIME as a way to help standardize episode lists and such. We can also make a seperate page for each episode, but.. I like to discourage that as it sometimes creates headaches down the line. (More pages to watch and to interlink and people like try and to delete such things.) --Kunzite 23:27, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, was just being a little too overconcerned about the size. I'm going to start figuring ways to summarize the summaries a little more to make up for the size and then revert the article back to the templates. Just freaked out on the size a little much... -- Makaio 23:44, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Size issues[edit]

So I thought that by removing the table that we'd drop the size of the article down... but it hasn't worked... it only dropped about 3 kb's... I don't really know what else to do other than start slashing the the summaries. I'll get back with you guys. -- Makaio 23:17, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

They were not tables. They were templates. They added an insignifigant ammount of overhead to the size of the page. The page legnth warning is an outdate policy thing that is hard coded into the wiki. They mention NOT to worry about article size especially in lists. --Kunzite 23:24, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not worried in the sense that if somebody starts editting the page that their computer is going to crash... but i am worried about the total size as it pertains to a loss of interest... then again this is anime so... -- Makaio 23:41, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well the WP:SIZE guidelines do say things about splitting when it become so long that it is unreadable. We could tenchnically split the whole thing into two or three pages like.. Characters_of_Negima_(1-15). Others also do give each episode its own page which might be something to consider if the episodes are long enough to warrant their own page. (Some people like to give episodes their own page when there's just a line of text. This isn't good.) --Kunzite 00:29, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Something is wrong[edit]

I can't edit the summary anymore without the templates getting all jacked up, if anyone else is experiencing the same problem please respond, or if anyone has a solution. Thanks. -- Makaio 22:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's fixed... I don't know what went wrong, but I think that if you don't put the internal link in properly, an error occurs that jacks up the template. You can see what it does if you look it up in the article history. -- Makaio 05:18, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
this? Yep, you gotta actually start the entry on the same line as |ShortSummary= or weird stuff like that happens. hehe, interesting effect, though. -- Ned Scott 09:02, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Although it's odd that it even worked at all before that.. -- Ned Scott 09:03, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A few episode pictures[edit]

I understand there has been some kind of debate, whether or not to have a picture in the episode summaery, but I took the liberty of putting in some examples, one article is actually complete, so it should give us all a good idea of what all the ep's will look like. -- Makaio 05:18, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, episode descriptions like these ones that are so far expanded have been given the OK by both sides of that debate to use fair use images. In other words, the descriptions are very expanded and there is no doubt to the critical commentary requirement of WP:FUC. That is, if that's what you were talking about.. -- Ned Scott 09:44, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the confirmation, I'm starting to find images for the other summaries now. -- Makaio 00:03, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The images are going well, though there are still some issues with placement and pics per summary, but I'm hoping to have most of the finished summaries complete, with edits and photos, soon... soon. -- Makaio 09:04, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Individual episode pages[edit]

I am interested in creating individual episode pages like this, but someone mentioned people may not want individual episode pages. I want to make it like List of Outlaw Star episodes, but I'll stop for now. If anyone is interested in cleaning up the Samurai Champloo episode pages, please tell me. - Peregrinefisher 06:56, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually wondering why it wasn't this way, as from what I've seen, it seems to be the standard on Wiki. I would say that we definitely should have individual episode pages. That way, we can do away with the 1-12 and 13-26 sections, and just have one page. Plus, the title, "List of Samurai Champloo episodes" doesn't really reflect what is currently listed here. This should only be a list, with simple information (see: List of Futurama episodes). If one wants more information on the episode, they only have to click the link. -Db26 06:02, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because none of the episodes are notable in any way shape or form, and this list has a ridiculous amount of plot summary, way beyond acceptable guidelines. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 19:44, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
