Q: What is the criteria for inclusion on this list? For example, Beckwourth Pass is listed, and most people would agree it should be listed. However, technically speaking it is a pass on the Diamond Mountains, a spur range of the Sierras. But given that Beckwourth pass is listed, one could argue that the mountain passes on other spur ranges, such as Mount Rose Summit and Spooner Summit on the Carson Range, Brockway Summit along California State Route 267 and the 5 or 6 mountain passes along U.S. Route 395 should be included as well. Thoughts? Dave (talk) 16:52, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As an attempt to answer my own question I have expanded this list to include those passes on the Carson Range, but not those along US 395 as that highway remains on the same side of the Sierra Crest for the entire run. Dave (talk) 23:13, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
