Slight and Simple error on 8 Episode "Naomi" of Series 4 Plot:

and as everyone begin to congregate in the house there’s multiple showdowns as the teenagers meet the adult

changed maybe to:

and as everyone begins to congregate in the house there are multiple showdowns as the teenagers meet the adult

I'm sure this needs some work... 11 "Michelle's Dating Video[9]" "Sketch" This video features Michelle making a video for a dating website on behalf of her mother. Some of the traits she list this man must not have are hairy bums, commenting on breasts, weird gnome fetishes or skin tight green jeans. Michelle also states numerous times there must be no ogling of schoolgirls. It should be noted that this video was released exclusively on Myspace

The man must not have hairy bums? I'm not sure how to phrase this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Petronella pettigrew (talkcontribs) 13:03, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode synopses[edit]

They read like C4 press releases, are they being cut and pasted from somewhere or what? 86.145.60.76 19:31, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the C4 website [1], they are. AuroraD 00:54, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 9[edit]

Is it really Abigail-centric? There was nothing to do with her in the preview, I think it's an Anwar one... especially as it has his parents in it... -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 23:10, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I think thats why soemoen else removed it, and then it was readded. It does seem Anwar centralised.... Reedy Boy 10:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And does that mean that the Maxxie/Anwar one was actually just Maxxie's one? -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 11:33, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There wasn't really a lot about Anwar in the Maxxie/Anwar episode. However, I don't know if you've noticed but instead of printing the centralised character's name at the start of each episode, the last picture of the title sequence just before the title 'Skins' changes with each episode and is a picture of the centralised character for that episode, have a look. The Maxxie/Anwar episode show a wide angle shot of both of them. AuroraD 00:51, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Does that make episode 8 a Tony/Effy episode?~ZytheTalk to me! 13:41, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode titles[edit]

Are we going with "Maxxie" for the epiode formerly known as "Maxxie and Anwar" and "Anwar" as the one formerly known as "Abigail"? We need to reach a consensus... Actually, where do these episode names come from? Are they officially confirmed or just unofficial names? Where do they come from? -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:09, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think its sorta been unofficially decided... Ie, the main characters... The Maxxie and Anwar episode wasnt really a Maxxie episode, so would be quite wrong to name it as so. We could do Skins Season 1 Episode x ? Reedy Boy 20:12, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If it's unofficial it should be changed unless a source for the names can be provided... they may be on the DVD cover, we don't know yet, though I think it best to revert to "Skins episode x" until we know for sure... -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:14, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, thats how Channel 4 have it Reedy Boy 20:19, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Am I misremembering, didn't the episodes specifically say "Maxxie and Anwar", "Chris", "Effy" etc. but this one didn't? It just had a montage showing "the boys".~ZytheTalk to me! 11:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They don't have titles, so I think we should move the episode articles to "Episode 1 (Skins)" etc. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 17:30, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did the E4 site used to give the episodes name, but since changed them to just numbers?~ZytheTalk to me! 17:55, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was never any names, they have always been numbered - there's no official source to suggest that those are the episode names. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 18:35, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess they were all just good guesses. Go ahead and move them. We'll have to change every instance of the episode names and re-write a bit on the main page.~ZytheTalk to me! 11:08, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've done most of the moving, and changing around in the articles and the episode list - its just the other instances that need to be changed. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 19:18, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, there is no published, reliable source for the above claims about episode titles. ("Channel 4" is not a source that someone can check properly.) Wikipedia requires sources for such information, not just consensus among us editors. There is a reliable source for the character-naming of the episodes — IMDb. Unless someone can counter with published, reliable, verifiable sources for the claim of "number as name", I plan to change all the episode titles to the ones documented at IMDb. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 06:30, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Channel 4 official website documents them as numbered episodes. See here. IMDb is erroneous, and misleadingly gives Episode 9 the title "Abigail", when the character of Abigail didn't even appear in the episode. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Trampikey (talkcontribs) 09:12, 5 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Is there any reason we're not going with the episodes names that are given on the DVD set (which were the names of characters)? Planewalker Dave (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 19:42, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode notability[edit]

All of the episodes of this series fail the notability guidelines for television episodes. The way for these articles to be improved is through the inclusion of real-world information from reliable sources to assert notability. That is unlikely to happen, and these only have certain bad aspects (though all may not apply) like containing overly long or one sentence plot summaries, trivia, and quotes. Per that, they need to be a small part of this list.

If there are no objections, these will be redirected soon. Otherwise, discussion will take place here. Please remember that this is not a vote. If you like the information, that's fine and dandy, but your opinion doesn't really count towards anything. The only opinions that do count are ones that that lean towards the inclusion of real world information. TTN 23:00, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think removing the episode summaries was unnecessary and pedantic. I'm not going to get bogged down in arguing about Wikipedia policies. I'd just like to say that I think that all you've done is make Wikipedia less informative. Lozregan (talk) 00:52, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Pages[edit]

Why on earth are the episode pages being deleted when there part of WikiProject British TV shows? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Benv-b92 (talkcontribs) 15:53, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just because something falls under a wikiproject, it doesnt assert their notability. Reedy Boy 18:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not having the individual episodes pages[edit]

  • I don't know why the episodes of skins has been merged into one pafe, with just a small sypnosis on each episode. I does not make sense as pages were deleted because the individual pages, such as "music featured in skins" etc. How is it fair that big programmes, like 'lost' have their own individual episode pages, is there a rule on this? I think there SHOULD be a vote, or even if the person who is responsible for changing the format make their decisions clear, as currently the whole of skins on wikipedia is NOT useful. A one sentenced sypnosis is not useful. What I call useful, and what was, is individual pages devoted to each episode, showing, guest appearences, trivia, soundtrack. etc. I don't want to sound all moany, but I hope this will convey other peoples thoughts, including mine. Tomcowie (talk) 15:47, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is completely right, the show is fairly notable it's part of the Wiki project things, it should have episode pages, I even tried to make some but someone deleted them without saying why.
  • Actually I understand now why they were taken off. I understand that the information was not relevent for an encyclopedia, but... I think information on the pages were insightful, even though they would've been classed as trivia. Is there any way that these can be restored under proper guidelines? I would personally liike to be part on overseeing it. (talk) 00:15, 16 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.141.215.37 (talk) [reply]
  • I could understand the pages being removed if they were just trivia, but at least with the pages I created, the only information added (at that time) was the air date the cast and a short synopsis, that doesn't seem very trivia like to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Benv-b92 (talkcontribs) 01:15, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Right, I have been and done the appropriate research and if the page gets so detailed it is overly long then the rules say each episode SHOULD have it's own page,Read here so let's get detailing this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Benv-b92 (talkcontribs) 04:56, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

objection to the word "chavs" used in the episode guide[edit]

Can anyone explain why this word is necessary? Insulting stereotypes don't belong on wikipedia and I've never heard the stereotype used in the show itself. I'm removing it unless anyone has a good reason otherwise. Eica (talk) 23:33, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The word has been used and a social group is not an insulting stereotype, the only change that should be applied would be using quote marks around the title.Benv-b92 (talk) 00:24, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Series 3 ratings??[edit]

These seem to be all incorrect to me.

Digital Spy and the Guardian both give ratings for series 3 episodes which are considerably lower than those given here.. by about 200,000-300,000.

The only thing I can think of is that the ones listed here are Official ratings as opposed to Overnights? Are there any sources? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.112.25.121 (talk) 15:35, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Series 4, Episode 5: Summary[edit]

In relation to the section of the episode where Freddie and Effy are lying down in the park and Freddie chases away a crowd of people: I have written in the episode summary that he chases away these innocent park-goers. But, while watching it I wondered for a moment if it was meant by the director to be a figment of Effy's imagination or if it was real. Noting that the shot was from Effy's exact point-of-view. Posting this purely for the purposes of accuracy of the summary, although it really isn't that important. Thoughts? Keys767 (talk) 18:37, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't really matter anyway, since the summaries need cut down. Keys767 (talk) 15:59, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Plot Summaries (ALL)[edit]

This article is marked as having over-descriptive plot summaries. To what extent should the summaries be reduced?

To the current length of the Series 1 summaries, or the shorter Series 3 ones? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Keys767 (talkcontribs) 18:58, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have considerably shortened the summaries for all series. Have they now met the standard criteria? Nuggets talk 18:16, 06 March 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Since we're not sure about the extent of the edits, for a start I propose:

a) A maximum character limit (inc. spaces) of 1000
Current character-counts at my time of signature are as follows:
Series 1
1 Tony - 1038
2 Cassie - 978
3 Jal - 1007
4 Chris - 1043
5 Sid - 1369
6 Maxxie and Anwar - 1232
7 Michelle - 1221
8 Effy - 1509
9 Finale - 1034
Series 2
1 Tony and Maxxie - 594
2 Sketch - 674
3 Sid - 764
4 Michelle - 665
5 Chris - 713
6 Tony - 895
7 Effy - 1044
8 Jal - 1034
9 Cassie - 887
10 Final Goodbyes - 1150
Series 3
1 Everyone - 420
2 Cook - 319
3 Thomas - 402
4 Pandora - 273
5 Freddie - 435
6 Naomi - 294
7 JJ - 269
8 Effy - 437
9 Katie and Emily - 275
10 Finale - 225
Series 4
1 Thomas - 807
2 Emily - 836
3 Cook - 1220
4 Katie - 930
5 Freddie - 1152
6 JJ - 1009
7 Effy - 732
8 Naomi - Not Yet Aired (193)
b) Summaries all to conform to the format that series 1,2 and 4 are written in
a.k.a. Plot summaries of what happens in the episode, as opposed to the "teaser" type summaries (like Series 3), which sound more like they are promotional summaries released by E4, than plot summaries.

Debate of this proposal welcome (if applicable).

--Keys767 (talk) 06:08, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed with the above proposal. I have narrowed the first and second series' summaries below the 1000 benchmark. I will make a start on series three which I agree is like promotional summaries. Nuggets talk 12:55, 15 March 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Series 4, Episode 8[edit]

The current plot summary finishes with "Both of their fates remain unknown." This is not correct. During the end credits, when all the characters are shown again with the actor's names on screen, Cook is seen three times without his actor's name, walking away on a street. This strongly suggests that he has indeed survived the confrontation and most likely killed John.

Can't edit it myself, so here you go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Felixrei (talkcontribs) 03:53, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

erm, no. As with the rest of the characters, the end credits showed a few short clips of each character including Cook from the past two series--Jac16888Talk 12:26, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, but wrong at the same time. As you say, the end credits show one (or two) scenes of all the individual characters, but everytime with their actor's name on screen. Cook is the only exception. He is shown once with his actors name on screen, but three times more without, each time in the same scene (a street, him walking away from camera).

  • This clip is still an excerpt from the series, as with the rest of the clips. This particular one is from series 4, episode 3, cook's episode. It's further obvious that this isn't linked to the ending scene by the fact it's daytime, not night, and he is wearing different clothes. — Pretzels Hii! 00:46, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Secret Party[edit]

Why is the 10th episode of Series 1 "Secret Party" not listed? 118.209.93.80 (talk) 09:35, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unseen Skins[edit]

There is a listing for character diaries and The Lost Weeks. Should there be one for Unseen Skins? EditingW (talk) 12:08, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Karen's relevance[edit]

Why do so many of the Series 3 and 4 episode summaries finish with "Karen is not present"? Is that really relevant? She doesn't have her own episode nor is she one of the main characters. She's just Freddie's sister. It's not like they all say "Katie/Emily's brother is not present" at the end. If you agree, please remove it. Mariiax (talk) 09:04, 25 December 2010 (UTC)mariiax[reply]

Series Six, Episode Nine[edit]

The source, which has proven accurate so far, indicates episode nine as a Grace centric episode. This doesn't mean she has to be alive; but there is no source indicating a Mini and Franky episode whatsoever. I'd say the episode title predicted at the moment is completely fans with fingers crossed, and unless it can be sourced, it should retain the name 'Grace' until indicated otherwise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.31.50.15 (talk) 01:02, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems as though they have a link to the IMDB episode listing. Are there other sources suggesting it is Grace's episode? Beggarsbanquet (talk) 06:32, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
IMBd has proven unreliable on many occasions, including series one naming 'Everyone' as 'Abigail', despite Abigail not appearing whatsoever in the episode. I think that website uses this one as one of its sources, its certainly not an official reference point. Having said that, neither is a skins fan website, the only defense I'd give to the Skins fan website source, which is uncited, is that the first three episodes; Everyone, Rich, Alex, have proven right. This source states that Grace will have episode nine. I suppose someone could ask on twitter for a confirmation either way? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.31.50.15 (talk) 11:20, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The episode is titled "Mini and Franky", as Grace is deceased, this link [[2]] shows the writers and the episodes they have wrote for series 6, Note: Jess Brittain's writing credit for the series, this confirms the episode title, so don't change the episode title, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheDeviantPro (talk) 22:06, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Then that should be sourced in the article given the fact that, as others have pointed out, IMDB is unreliable. Beggarsbanquet (talk) 09:58, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Series Six, Episode Nine - "Matty"[edit]

The recent edits to changing the episode title from "Mini and Franky" to "Matty" is un-needed as the source IMDB is proven unreliable (as showed previous discussion of the episode 9 title), as IMDB had the episode title as "Mini and Franky" before changing to "Matty". But as the source provided in "Mini and Franky" is more reliable as the source is from Channel 4 (parent company of E4) which shows the writers and the episodes they have written for the series. as Jess Brittian writting credit as "Mini and Franky" which shows that she already written the episode. I also at google results for the episode title beening named "Matty" and shows no results showing the episode title as "Matty" only on IMDB. I sugguest we keep the episode "Mini and Franky" until the title "Matty" is comfirmed or until the episode is showed or previewed on E4, thanks. — TheDeviantPro (talk) 23:58, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Series 7[edit]

I have taken the liberty of creating a three episode text box for series 7; as numerous sources have confirmed a three episode send off with each episode lasting 2 hours. It appears each one will feature a corresponding generation. O.demontfalcon (talk) 14:54, 10 March 2012 (UTC)User:O.demontfalcon[reply]

X Person is absent in this episode[edit]

Is it really necessary? I mean, what do we gain from it? Personally, I think having those "X Person is absent from this episode" is a little bit of a buzzkill. Reading the episode is great and we get to a really good final line, only for it to be ruined by it. 123.231.115.76 (talk) 10:19, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings[edit]

There is a big pbl about ratings. DigitalSpy announce 459k for 6.01 there : http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a361760/skins-series-premiere-takes-459k-on-e4.html

That's not really 751k... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.175.159.140 (talk) 23:03, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As of 16 March 2022, 7 episodes of series 5 and 6 have the same number of viewers listed. They are shifted by one episode, so s5e2 matches s6e3 and so on. Highly unlikely that these numbers are accurate. This calls all the given ratings into question. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.10.188.57 (talk) 19:52, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
