Hosts[edit]

As anyone who has been watching this page recently has already noticed, I've been working on improving the tables in which the data find themselves.

In pursuit of this (ongoing) improvement, I added an 'Introduced by' column.&nbap; I was going with whatever IMDb claimed about hosting responsibilities, and, as such, had listed Roald Dahl as the host of the second and third episodes of season 8.  That was, until I came across this source which says "Parson's pleasure [sic], in series three, was the final episode in which Dahl gave an on-screen introduction."

At present, this page has Dahl listed as the host of every episode in the first two seasons plus the following episodes from season three: 1, 2, 4, 6.

Can anyone please verify whether Dahl ever hosted any episodes after "Parson's Pleasure" (S3E6)?  (Note, it seems that three episodes after that one were written by or based on stories by Dahl (specifically, S4E3, S4E7, and S9E3).)

Can anyone please also verify that Dahl hosted every episode in the first two seasons, and that he only hosted the episodes of season three currently listed?

After I read the aforementioned source, I came across yet another source, but it is rather nonspecific.  According to this source, Dahl hosted from 1979 until 1980, and John Houseman hosted from 1980 until 1982.  But, it does not list any specific episodes, or even seasons, for either.  Moreover, IMDb doesn't make any mention of Houseman having ever hosted.

Can anyone please verify whether John Houseman ever hosted any episodes of this series and, if so, which episodes?

And, while we're at it, can anyone verify whether the show ever had any other hosts, and if so, who?  If so, which episodes were hosted by these other hosts?  Finally, were there any episodes that were hosted by {{none}}, and, if so, which ones?

Whatever information you can provide to help improve this article will be appreciated.

Kind of a Mess[edit]

This page pointlessly and repeatedly flips back and forth between two different formats. Either format would be perfectly acceptable, but the way it is is just a mess.

Sauce for the Goose - Gloria Grahame[edit]

Gloria Grahame is credited as Olivia, but by all accounts I can find she had been dead for three years. The other credit, as Gladys in Depart in Peace, 1980, is feasible. I have no further info. Yes, it does seem confusing. Having seen the episode, I don't know the actress well enough to tell if it's her, but the copyright date on the episode is 1982, which suggests it was originally part of the fifth season, which was filmed in 1981. Looking at her biography, she was indeed living in the UK in the months leading up to her death, so I presume it is her. Perhaps they held back the episode on account of her recent death?Tuzapicabit (talk) 12:13, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
