Sources and notability[edit]

I think there is a potential problem with Oxford undergraduates excitedly adding whichever new College society they have decided to start this week. I therefore propose removing all clubs/societies that do not cite at least one published reference to justify their inclusion. 45ossington (talk) 14:50, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that all of the edits are in good faith, so a better course of action would be add an 'original research' tag, tagging all of the uncited clubs as 'citation needed'. Stuart Newmanite (talk) 21:32, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I can see that would be a friendly approach to adopt but (i) in most cases, no "research", whether original or otherwise, is actually involved and (ii) the notability issue remains unaddressed. 45ossington (talk) 07:20, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
