General[edit]

I'm not really convinced of the virtue of list, since you can presumably get this info via the PPE graduates category but I think it's at least somewhat better here than on the PPE page. Ideally each one of the people in the list needs to be referenced, someone else can have fun with that... Billsmith453 (talk) 19:25, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Questionable entries[edit]

Bill Clinton never actually completed the degree, so he shouldn't be on the list of PPE graduates.208.27.203.129 (talk) 19:42, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wayne Rooney is a massively questionable entry. I cannot find a single source elsewhere that confirms he went to Oxford or did a PPE degree. I expect, given the lack of evidence and the general public perception of Mr. Rooney's mental capacity, that this is a joke. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.178.161.220 (talk) 12:01, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Subsections[edit]

Better to add subsections of careers e.g. politics (with a sub section for MPs), literature, journalism, etc —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.125.57 (talk) 22:49, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have begun this process, but there is more work to be done.
Is there a quick way to properly put names into alpha order? The current alpha order by forename is not satisfactory.Tomintoul (talk) 09:24, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A quick way to place in alphabetical order is described below in Alphabetize -- User1756 (talk) 10:09, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The politics section might be better split into current and former (elected) politicians. 185.69.144.106 (talk) 09:44, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Alphabetization[edit]

Why is this list in alphabetical order by first name rather than by last name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.148.33.183 (talk) 21:55, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Breaking into categories would be good [see Subsections above], but until that is done it should at least be presented in alphabetic order of surname, not given name - I'll work on it when I have time -- Boing! said Zebedee 16:10, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've made some progress with this in the Others and the Non-UK Politicians sections. Someone will have to do the others (quick way is to cut and paste into a wordprocessor, then move the first names to the end of the line, hit 'alphabetise' function, move first names back to start of the line, etc.) User1756 (talk) 21:35, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

References shouldn't generally be required in a list of this nature as almost all the people listed are linked to their main Wikipedia entries, which should in turn have the appropriate references. User1756 (talk) 10:09, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name of article[edit]

"People" sounds very informal. Shouldn't it be moved to "list of university of oxford alumni with ppe degrees"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kavi96 (talkcontribs) 16:37, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
