Mt Donon and the Donon pass[edit]

The French War Cemetery at Donon.
French War cemetery at Donon

Mont Donon is the highest peak in the northern Vosges. In the Donon pass area there is a French War cemetery created in 1920 and took in bodies from the Croix Brigos to the Petit Donon. There are 288 men buried here from the 1914-1918 war.

Monument in Donon
There is a monument in the cemetery which carries the inscription

" Combats du Donon 21-22 août 1914 - Aux Officiers, Sous-Officiers et Soldats "

It was inaugurated in August 1921.

Recommendations[edit]

The article is severely bloated. Most of the background descriptions of the battles are completely unnecessary. Descriptions, POV language, and the size of some images should be reduced, and the format should be modified to take up less space. There is no reason for a table format for one item, especially when the "item" is an a fairly elaborate description already done in sufficient detail on another page. - Boneyard90 (talk) 01:24, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
