Reformatting[edit]

Lapadite77, I did see FLs for guidance, specifically the List of awards and nominations received by Kylie Minogue and this FL review for Camila Cabello's awards list that states that Gaga's format is no longer acceptable. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 13:51, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, noting the number of awards and nominations in the lead is also not part of the FL standard, and your edit removed an important clarification about one of the awards. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 13:52, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
DanielleTH Hadn't seen that update, thanks! Lapadite (talk) 17:57, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Lapadite77 -- Happy to clarify! DanielleTH (Say hi!) 17:57, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Awards List[edit]

DanielleTH, is there a reason you changed the infobox from {{infobox musician awards}} to {{Infobox awards list}}? Primefac (talk) 20:02, 23 July 2019 (UTC) (please do not ping on reply)[reply]

Primefac -- for the footnote. The accomplish the same thing but I personally feel that the footnote is an important clarification. If you'd rather use the other template and have that added manually that's fine too. DanielleTH (Say hi!) 22:22, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Is that even true here? Do we want it to be true here? From what I've seen none of these awards have such a runner-up system; she is either listed as winning or not. Primefac (talk) 01:02, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's not really a matter of wanting for me, but considering how small the list is now it's only going to grow, and I doubt that if she eventually gets nominated for an award where that applies anyone's going to switch the template. That's a big if though, and I was basically just following this FL, so if you want to switch it to the old one then do so. Truthfully I care more about the table system than the infobox. List of awards and nominations received by Normani Template[edit]

Primefac is trying to revert the template changes for List of awards and nominations received by Normani template. My version is (this version) and Primefac is reverting it to this (this version). We shall take a vote on which template all users agree on. Welcometothenewmillenium (talk) 03:24, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

First, you're not using a template. Second, please give some examples (as you mention in your edit summary) of "every artist" that has your raw-code version. Templates make things easier to deal with; raw code is hard to parse for non-tech-savvy editors.
As a minor note, both {{infobox awards list}} and {{infobox musician awards}} say to not double-count, and only include nominations if they didn't win. I've updated the totals to reflect this (along with fixing some bad data from an IP). Primefac (talk) 13:01, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable awards[edit]

Kanyfug, we don't include awards that are not WP:NOTABLE in awards lists. See WP:SAL, WP:INDISCRIMINATE, WP:OTHERSTUFF. Lapadite (talk) 16:45, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nominations[edit]

Primefac I know you were saying before that there’s some kind of rule where the wins don’t count as nominations but i haven’t seen that in any other artist awards pages and I’ve checked quite a few. I also know for a fact that there’s quite a lot of people that check this page and are confused. Not everyone is gonna read the note. Also I saw that not set in place in other people’s awards pages and the wins are counted as nominations. You even recommended I change those artist pages to your format and they always got reverted. So basically I want to know why this format is in place and particularly why only Normani’s page. And if we can come up with a form of common ground. Kanyfug (talk) 02:43, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The matter is currently under discussion on the talk page of the infobox template; the last time I did a random sampling of pages using the template I found about a 50/50 split between "noms AND wins" and "noms OR wins". Generally speaking, when there is a lack of firm consensus it's generally best to leave things "as-is" until a centralized discussion can determine the "right" way of doing things. Ok thanks Kanyfug (talk) 12:03, 15 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
