Hit Man

Both on this page, and on the page discussing the Blaxploitation genre, you link Hit Man to a disambiguation page with no direct listing of the 1972 film.98.96.254.102 (talk) 12:37, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Disco godfather

you are missing the disco Godfather, and the avenging of the disco godfather, feat rudy Ray moore, from Dolemite fame —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.170.118.71 (talk) 12:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

The Warriors?

I don't see the Warriors on the list, but I think that it would fit in blaxploitation films. Yes, the cast is an interracial mix but the camera tricks are similar to blaxploitation films, as well as a large portion of the 'bad guys' happen to be white. I don't think many would consider it a true blaxploitation film, but shouldn't it get a nod for at least being watered down?

Heavy Traffic?

I'm not sure that Heavy Traffic really qualifies as a blaxploitation film. It has some elements of "blaxploitation," but not really enough for it to be put on a list of blaxploitation films. The same goes for Fritz the Cat, too. Actually, Ralph Bakshi's only contribution to the film to contain an aspect of the blaxploitation genre was his 1975 satire Coonskin, which isn't even listed! (Ibaranoff24 03:59, 15 November 2005 (UTC))

Actually, I got this list from blaxploitation.com. I just recently started the article and haven't review everything. That's why most of the films are directed to the imdb.com website. You can add/delete films that do/don't belong. I won't have a problem with it. QzDaddy 12:42, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

(To clarify, Coonskin is a spoof of the blaxploitation films, not an actual part of the genre) - Ibaranoff24 15:46, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Get Rich or Die Tryin'

Although chronologically not related to the rest of the films, this movie contains negative portrayals of black people, glorifying drug dealers to the status of role-models, it is developed in the ghetto and has the same amount of urban violence as others in the list. • It should be on the list. I agree. --futurebird 23:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

The Wiz

I don't see this movie in the main article or in this list, yet, it was considered to be one of the blaxplotation films to end that era of Hollywood. So why is it not in here? --Seishirou Sakurazuka 03:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Removals

The Wiz was removed from this list because it was a remake of a Broadway production that included an all Black cast. This alone can not make it a Blaxploitation film. While it was produced in the 1970's, it did not exploit the African-American identity, it does not contain stereotypes, it is based on a mainstream Broadway production, its soundtrack is not typically "funk", it contains no sex or violence.
Watermelon Man was removed from this list because it does not fall under the category of Blaxploitation Film. It is a thoughtful social commentary which deals relatively realistically with the African American identity.

Horrible List

This is an awful list. It is overly broad, gives no sources for its citations, and seemingly mentions every black comedy and action film made in the last 40 years as well as every movie made during the "Blaxploitation" era. One could say it is almost bigoted in its view of commercial black cinema as purely exploitative, but it's more appropriate to note that it's just poorly made.
