Should the values be adjusted to inflation?[edit]

@Quake1234: This list may be misleading as the earthquakes which took place decades ago have possibly greater costs than some of the recent quakes. Inflation adjustment was applied in the List of costliest Atlantic hurricanes. Ecrusized (talk) 07:57, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Quake1234 The user is trying to say this list has a serious problem and not just a minor factual inconvenience. Not accounting for inflation diminished the legitimacy and credibility of this list. Dora the Axe-plorer (explore) 00:02, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2010 and 2011 New Zealand Earthquakes[edit]

The Source given in the Article, that the 2010 Canterbury Quake caused $40 Billion in Damage actually says that this Cost was caused by All Quakes in 2010 and 2011. So this includes the 2010 Darfield and the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake Damage. I assume its almost impossible to give damage totals for each Quake alone. But its to assume that the 2011 Christchurch Quake was the ore damaging one.
