List of English football club mergers[edit]

I started adding clubs in the Football League and National League System but the list was becoming unwieldy so I've limited the list to clubs in the Football Conference and above. The full list is still available on my user page - List Of English Football Club Mergers.

Range of countries covered[edit]

A few other European club mergers are raised here.

If the list becomes more comprehensive, we might need separate lists for each continent.

Proposed mergers[edit]

Whether some of the English examples listed under "Proposed mergers" were anything more than idle talk and actually went far enough to be called "Proposed mergers" has been questioned on a thread on Tony's Non-League Forum. Rainjar (talk) 13:24, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish teams[edit]

Göztepe S.K. + İzmirspor = Doğanspor (between 1937-1939)

Altay S.K. + Altınordu S.K. + Bucaspor = Üçokspor (between 1937-1939)

Karşıyaka S.K. + Bornovaspor = Yamanlarspor (between 1937-1944)
