Games with open sourcecode only[edit]

Things like Doom 3 and FreeSpace 2 probably shouldn't be included here. The game as a whole is still non-free. Opening the code doesn't make a game free.Wikinium (talk) 20:44, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion criteria[edit]

Okay, there needs to be some inclusion criteria for this list or it's just going to be a complete mess to ever fill it out- there are indie developers who have made literally hundreds of free 10-minute games and released them on their websites. A list that is thousands and thousands of items long is untenable; either it's a nightmare to put together (and never ever close to being done) or you get a random assortment like we currently have. If anyone is editing this list regularly, think about it, and I'll drop by again later to AfD it or not. --PresN 00:40, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We should reduce this to only notable games with articles as a start. Winner 42 Talk to me! 05:49, 4 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I know this is a very late reply, but what are some other suggestions for the inclusion criteria? I do agree the scope is huge and it should only include notable games. Whisperjanes (talk) 19:29, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Minecraft is not a free game[edit]

User scores[edit]

I've been looking for articles that use the phrase "Metascore" as it is site specific jargon that is entirely unnecessary in a well written encyclopedia. (It is a "score from Metacritic" shortening that to Metascore does not help readers.) This bad choice is often seen with other bad choices, such as this list article which includes user scores from Metacritic, a big mistake.

WP:USERGENERATED content such as from other Wikis or user voted web polls are not allowed. They are fundamentally not reliable WP:RS.

MetaScore

Not only has this article chose to include user score it has also chosen to misrepresent them as being "out of 100" like the critic score. I will try to remove the user scores from the article, but they should all be removed (per WP:UGC and WP:RS). -- 109.78.203.13 (talk) 18:49, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
