Inclusion criteria[edit]

I'm having a little bit of trouble with the asserted inclusion criteria ("notable top hotels by county in Ireland, three, four or five-star hotels or historic hotels which are covered in multiple reliable publications"). What do we mean by "top"? How is the Newbury Hotel (a small family-run 3-star hotel with perhaps 30 rooms) a "top" hotel in Ireland? Or a "historic" hotel (either in the sense that the building is historic/protected - like an Ashford Castle; Or the sense that the business is long-standing or associated with something "historic" - like Hayes' Hotel). Or even, frankly, a "notable" hotel?

While I understand, perhaps, that this list is still somewhat of a "work in progress", it seems more than a little anachronous that the list includes some small hotels (which, to my read, are non-notable/non-historic/non-"top" hotels that do not meet the asserted criteria by some measure - like the Newbury Hotel), while seeming to omit others (which do objectively meet the criteria - like the Gresham Hotel or Dromoland Castle or Shelbourne Hotel). In all honesty, unless the list is improved (in the relatively short term), I wonder if it should be moved to the Draft space. And/or redirected to List of hotels#Ireland for the time being.... In terms of this title being a redirect, I note with some interest that all of the following titles are redirects to the equivalent entries in the List of hotels by country structure...:

As such there is plenty of precedent to *not* maintain a separate (incomplete/indiscriminate/anachronous) "list of random hotels in Ireland".... Guliolopez (talk) 16:16, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is quite a bit wrong with this article, I will give it another few days to be reformed before starting the whole deletion process with this and other articles relating to hotelsFinancefactz (talk) 09:12, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
