Citations[edit]

Nobody agrees on the peaks of the big Persian Gulf fields. There's certainly no definitive proof, though there's a lot of evidence, so there's no way to say absolutely that Ghawar, for example, peaked in 2005. The only citation listed is one website. Merger proposal[edit]

This is a very good table. However, we have also the list of oil fields, which has more fields listed, but at the same time needs update and extensive clean-up. I propose to develop a one comprehensive list based on these two lists. Beagel 14:35, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support. I didn't even know about this one ("Peak oil/Table...") and while as you say this one is good and the other is pretty much a mess, the intuitive one to me would be the other one (List of oil fields). Thanks Geologyguy 14:56, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I support this as long as the table is inclusive of the table columns which would result in a table with lots of empty fields unless someone works at it. Year of discover, year of initial production, are important fields. It would be nice if the headers could be clicked to re-sort the table.  ;-) Mulp 04:56, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At this point, I've been updating several field levels as the reports come out of the DOE on this page. The other page is largely stale, incorrect, poorly formatted and inferior to this page. Propose that we replace the other page with this one. I think this one is far more comprehensive and up to date. It's sorted by field size rather than by country (which is more to the point of peak oil). It also includes a production rate and a capacity whereas the other includes...what I think is a capacity...but not sure if it's ever updated with more recent data. This one also has a ton more references (many of which I've added). CydeSwype (talk) 18:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support. I think there is consensus for this.Beagel (talk) 15:50, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What's the next step on this? It's been about a year since the last comment here. Can we remove List of Oil Fields and redirect people to List of largest oil fields? If so, what's the best way to do that? CydeSwype (talk) 00:03, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sortable Table[edit]

If you merge the tables, could you make the table sortable please? There is a comment on "sortable tables" at User_talk:MartinGugino —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 07:25, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Include total reserves data[edit]

If possible, total reserves should be included in this table. For Iran's reserves per field see http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/cabs/Iran/pdf.pdf —Preceding unsigned comment added by CydeSwype (talkcontribs) 23:55, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect data[edit]

Removed some incorrect data pertaining to Ahwaz-Asmari (previous author had attached data to this field for Bangestan instead). Also updated some values to more recent values. Iranian reserves seem to be dropping rapidly now but can't find quality resources for decline percentages. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CydeSwype (talkcontribs) 00:28, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ongoing Updates[edit]

Just updated the Mexican field reserves since the reports came out of the DOE today CydeSwype (talk) 18:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
