Duplicates[edit]

This list was copied from Sons of the American Revolution after a discussion at that talk page. Looking it over as a stand-alone list, it needs some cleanup.

One thing I notice right away is redundant entries. For example, Theodore Roosevelt is listed 8 distinct times. He was many things during his life, but he was only one member of the SAR. I propose we pick the category that duplicates are most known for (in this example, TR is probably most known for being president) and leave it at that. If someone wants to know more about who that person is, they can click on the article link and read about it. If someone is well known for more than one thing (i.e. William Howard Taft), we could include him up front as a US President and then make a note that he was also a Supreme Court Justice. Thoughts? Citations[edit]

Another thing that stands out right away on this list is that there are relatively few citations once you scroll down past the presidents. I'm resisting the urge to add citation requests for now, but it would really help if we could cite any new additions and start adding citations for existing names. If there's no citation here and no citation on the person's Wikipedia article, we may eventually need to remove that person from the list. Canute (talk) 20:54, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
