Cleanup[edit]

I'm going to attempt a clean-up with additions to this listing (as it's all over the place), but I believe the ground rules should be: no entries without title, titles italicized and in English (as this is English Wikipedia), all other information such as museum and city in English and with wiki linking (when possible).--Chimino (talk) 16:23, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

But we also need the original titles somewhere. Regards, Yann (talk) 08:28, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Judgement of Paris[edit]

Please note that the wiki image of the "The Judgement of Paris" is incorrect. A correct image can be found on http://paintingandframe.com/uploadpic/paul_cezanne/big/the_judgement_of_paris.jpg.

A description of the painting is in Meyer Schapiro's essay "The Apples of Cezanne" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Darylprasad (talkcontribs) 13:27, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, but the image is not incorrect, though the title can be ambiguous on its own (without any further information such as when the work was created or what it looks like).
The "wiki image" you are referring to shows Le Jugement de Pâris painted in the early 1860s: V.16 (in the first catalogue raisonnée, Cézanne, son art, son oeuvre by Lionello Venturi).
And there is/was a later painting from ca 1880, the one shown in the external link you provided, which is sometimes referred to by the same title, and sometimes as Le Berger amoureux: V.537. Photographs of the second painting appear to have been taken at the Josse Bernheim-Jeune Collection before WWII, but the painting's current whereabouts are unknown, if it still exists at all. ---Sluzzelin talk 23:24, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dimensions Column Suggestion[edit]

I'm not an computer programmer but it would be nice if the painting "Dimensions" column would have an option for the listed measurements to be given in English (inches) as well as metric (centimeters, cm) units. Perhaps there is a way to set up the column so the units can be "toggled" between inches and cm? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evensteven2000 (talkcontribs) 21:43, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Scope of this article[edit]

Should this article just list Cézanne's oil paintings, or should it expand to include watercolours as well? Hochithecreator (talk) 17:39, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
