Untitled[edit]

Hey, this list is a great idea, but if you list Christopher Columbus, why not all the apostles and other biblical persons? There are a LOT of them on Faroese stamps. Also mystical persons like Sigurd, Thor, Odin, Rán,... can be found on Faroese stamps. -- Arne List 09:35, 31 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion proposal[edit]

The deletion proposal [1] by TenPoundHammer (talk · contribs) have urged me to improve this list article by completing and updating the list, and - which is more important – adding good sources that verifies the content of the list and the scope of the list: Faroese stamps are, in general, designed and issued as part of a policy to to build a profile of the country. Go for it! It would be a shame if this was deleted. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 21:54, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relevance of list[edit]

This is not an indiscriminate list, but has encyclopedic value as a reference work of the most notable people of the islands.

Unlike a category, this has the added benefit of beautiful artwork, so it can also include some documentation about the artists. This makes the list a biographical, philatelic, and artistic treasure useful to biographical, philatelic, and art historians. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 22:07, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Missing images[edit]

We need images for Jens Christian Svabo (2010) and 2017 onward. -- Valjean (talk) (PING me) 14:57, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
