General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: None required.

Overall: Sourcing is good, but references for Andrew Upson and Burton Millard are needed. I find ALT1 the most interesting of the set. Otherwise, looks great! Thrakkx (talk) 21:25, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have added sourcing for Millard and Upson. I don't have a prefernce any sentence. It's been over a decace since I've submitted one of these, so I'll leave it to the experts to decide. Many of the linked biographical pages have accompanying photos if that's something you're interested in adding too. Best. ~~ Mr.crabby
    • Good to see. Do you mind de-orphaning the article? There may be a navbox you can add this page to, or you could add this page in the "See also" section of each politician's article. Thrakkx (talk) 20:49, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • I have added article to Template:American Civil War which links it to hundreads of other Civil War-related articles. Mr.crabby (Talk) 09:55, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
        • Query: what makes Political Graveyard a reliable source? It appears to be created by a single person, and sourcing is not given that I can see. The site itself says Information on this page — and on all other pages of this site — is believed to be accurate, but is not guaranteed. Users are advised to check with other sources before relying on any information here. As far as I can tell, all of the hooks proposed here rely on that site, so I doubt they're usable. • @Mr.crabby and Thrakkx: Your attention might be required here.--LordPeterII (talk) 08:15, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
            • Mr.crabby hasn't edited since last month so it seems that Thrakkx will have to address any remaining concerns. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:45, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
              • Sorry for the oversight on this source, it is clearly not reliable enough. I am not invested in this article, nor do I know where I'd look for replacement sources. It is possible to simply delete the references and any entries that relied specifically on it, though that would decimate the size of this article and clearly imply that the list is incomplete. Thrakkx (talk) 17:50, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • The nominator hasn't edited in a month and article issues remain unaddressed. Unless another editor adopts this and addresses the sourcing concerns there does not appear to be a path forward for the nomination at this time. • Drive-by comment - "Politician" is vague term that can be applied to anyone who participates in the system, even the neighborhood volunteers. I don't know that there is a definite fatality figure for the American Civil War. Our own Wikipedia article (in one place) says it was 616,222–1,000,000+ dead. This nomination would appear to be a only a replication of the names on the Political Graveyard site, which in itself does not seem to be a reliable source. AGF on the nominator's intent, but it's not DYK ready. — Maile (talk) 17:55, 11 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
