Super Mario Bros. or Sonic

It appears someone keeps adding old series claiming they are coming soon. It's very doubtful Super Mario Bros. or Sonic will be added. There's a better chance of these types of series being acquired for Boomerang. - Unsigned comment 14:47, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Online Service shows

Should shows only offered in an online service of Cartoon Network be on the list? - Unsigned comment 22:18, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Some mistakes

Courage the Cowardly Dog (1999-peresent, not 2002 (i saw it yesterday) The same for Johnny Bravo, ppg, time squad

Most of these dates are for the original run, which for Courage the Cowardly Dog would be 1999 - 2002 (this is also why, I think, we have syndication dates listed for older shows, such as Richie Rich). -- Jelly Soup 07:33, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Yo! Yogi never aired on Cartoon Network. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.0.124.59 (talk) 22:30, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't know where else to put this...isn't the show Hero 108 a Cartoon Network original? It is not listed in their list of original programming, or even their list of programs currently airing. It is definitely on that channel as I watched it this morning, and it's own wiki article links it to the Cartoon Network site, saying it is co produced by CN...so....add it.

Adult Swim shows

Should they show the adult swim shows, since those have a list of there own?

Also, someone should mark production vs. air dates
Actually, as this list pertains to programs being shown or previously being shown, only the air dates related to Cartoon Network should be listed. -- Jelly Soup 07:31, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Tables

I think someone should redesign this page to be more like the list of programs broadcast by Nickelodeon. That is so much easier to read and has individual sections for shows currently airing and genres. I'm no good with tables at all so someone else should. Yoshiman64 (talk) 04:50, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

I've converted most of the page into a table format. Thanks to whoever added the ratings.--UBracter (talk) 02:33, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Category

This list would be better served by: Category:Cartoon_Network_shows. KyuuA4 (talk) 08:13, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree--since we have this category, this article is redundant. It should be deleted as such. Carl.bunderson (talk) 07:03, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
But many of the shows on this page aren't in that category.

Errors

There are more than 20 errors on this page. For example, the broadcasted show Courage The Cowardly Dog is still running. Also, The Adventures Of Super Mario Bros. 3 is not running and has been completley taken off the network. Much other errors follow. Also, This article should be rewritten to a more organized state. Thank you. Stickmeister (talk) 16:05, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

What's with the 1992 near Animaniacs in the list? That show didn't start until 1993, when I was one year old (which is one of the reasons I didn't watch it when it was originally on Fox kids the other reason being that I wasn't even aware it existed). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.173.90.94 (talk) 10:55, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Also, Total Drama Island and Ed, Edd, n' Eddy are not produced by Cartoon Network. Total Drama Island was produced by Teletoon, and Ed, Edd, n' Eddy was produced by A.K.A. Cartoon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bgnkid (talkcontribs) 10:46, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Concerning Upcoming Shows

Should shows in the "Upcoming Shows" section be moved to another section the week they premiere, or on the exact day? --UBracter (talk) 22:49, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't Powerpuff Girls Z be listed here too? 140.182.170.162 (talk) 19:55, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Maybe it could though no one knows for sure if Powerpuff Girls Z will air on cartoon network at all. --Hadger 02:39, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Considering there is no reference as to Ed, Edd n Eddy having ended...

Plus the fact the movie hasn't even aired on the American Cartoon Network, I believe I'd be in the right to change its end date back to Present, but I think it'd be a better if one of the more active contributors made the change, as I don't want any sort of recourse taken against me. 71.14.38.10 (talk) 20:58, 8 July 2009 (UTC)

name of two cops cartoon?

Does anyone know what the name of the cartoon is with these two cops/detectives, who are constantly on a mission in the modeling world? It takes a pun on the models and their obsession with superficial looks. Their nemesis was this dark-haired woman I believe. Gryffindor (talk) 07:55, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

cartoons

kypto the super dog, whats new scooby-doo,scooby doo where are you, and a pup named scooby doo are on the schedule till october 2 are these shows coming officially back to the channel?

Well we don't know for sure if they will show it again after the week (or day, I didn't check the schedule) is over, so maybe we will wait until tomorrow's schedule and check, then we'll see. Still, I'm not sure if it should be removed unless it really is over for a few days. But since those are old Cartoon Network shows, they probably won't be shown on Cartoon Network often. --Hadger 19:34, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Apparently, the show, Courage the Cowardly Dog should have been on Boomerang by now, not on the network. Originally, Courage the Cowardly Dog lasted for four seasons from 1999 to 2002. I thank that many fans of the show wanted a fifth season so badly, but it is considered unlikely. Does constitutes a fancruft, crystal ball, or original research? List of movies aired on Cartoon Network, anyone?

Shouldn't there be a separate article for a list of movies aired on Cartoon Network? I mean, there's an article of a list of movies aired on Nickelodeon has, but there should be one for Cartoon Network. After all, Cartoon Network had aired numerous animated movies since 1995 (ex: An American Tail, The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island) and live-action movies since around 2008. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.186.144.240 (talk) 22:58, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Scooby Doo MI

Well even though it's not finished it still isn't airing and shouldn't be placed under currently airing programs. Ctesjbuvf (talk) 23:34, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

It only comes on Tuesdays, plus a couple of reruns once in a while. Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated should stay under currently airing programs. Easy4me (talk) 17:27, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Where is the list of programming blocks?

Did someone delete it? I think it would be better to have merged it with cartoon network programming. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.228.63.124 (talk) 16:19, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

List of Acquired Programs

Do we need that long list? I don't think so, but I think it should be up for discussion since it has been removed and put back again serveral times. I noticed that not all the programs were there, so if it stays they should be added. Ctesjbuvf (talk) 12:24, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

On another note. Not every show is there. Ctesjbuvf (talk) 12:03, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

I didn't spend six hours on that list for nothing. I looked at the most acquired programming that Cartoon Network has aired. I don't put shows that aired in the sixties as they did not air in terms of new episodes and that's what this list was for to show when the show first and last aired on Cartoon Network. I updated it like every other day, is that not enough? And others could help too because it did say that the list was incomplete until someone removed the message. And as for the "Duplicate List" excuse, that cannot be used here as a similar thing is occurring with the Carton Network Animated Series list too then. Either that one stays, or the other goes as your "Duplicate List" excuse is poor. If your not the one who wrote that though, then i don't remember exactly who did, but someone put in notes that the list i added was a duplicate of another, and although this is true, this list was in a more detailed perspective as it had more than just the series' run on the network, it also had its episodes and rating as well, something that the other list is doing as well. Two lists don't make a difference. If its three lists, however, then we got a problem. 97.114.32.133 (talk) 22:22, September 9, 2011 (UTC)

Wasn't me, I just think we should solve this because there has been a long edit war about it. I know that by saying not all shows are there I should give a hand, but before we decide whether to have the list or not I wont. I don't mean series before Cartoon Network's time. I mean series like Atomic Betty. Ctesjbuvf (talk) 18:41, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

@97.114.32.133. The series in your list are already in the article. Either in the current programming list or the former programming list. They already have the dates on which they aired and stopped airing (new episodes and reruns). A list solely for acquired programming that aired in new episodes is totally unnecessary because of the fact that they are or can be listed in the other two lists with dates. Also, if an acquired program that aired on the network (either in new eps or reruns) isn't listed in either the current programming or former programming lists, then add them. Also, the Cartoon Network Original series list has nothing to do with this. That's for original programming. Those shows are added to the appropriate list (Current or Former).--ETLamborghini (talk) 19:40, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

But do these lists show how many episodes they have? 97.114.32.133 (talk) 15:24, September 21, 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.114.42.225 (talk)

Code Lyoko Evolution

Hello,

This page has been edited to state that Code Lyoko Evolution will air on Cartoon Network in 2013. There is a reference, but it's to a locked source available only by paid subscription. Is there some way for the general public (not paid subscribers) to see this information verified?

ThunderCats: Hiatus or Canceled?

Can someone edit the article to say that ThunderCats is on hiatus. I edited the page three times but all have been reverted to confirm the show is canceled. I can tell that there's a source to confirm the hiatus: "DC Nation Panel - San Diego Comic Con 2012". Retrieved August 26, 2012.. WhatGuy (talk) 07:13, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Regarding the revisions made

I would highly recommend if my revision of the page would be in place of the older revision being used currently. I revised it with the intent to match Wikipedia's Manual of Style as well as making the article more congruous with other articles pertaining to other lists of television series by networks (e.g. list of programs broadcast by Discovery Channel). I especially did extensive work trying to make it work with the Manual of Style, considering it was a bit of mess of improper footnotes and odd formatting choices before.

I can understand the concern with exact dates being more desirable, but considering that there was no citations for such dates, and users were having trouble identifying the exact dates on numerous accounts, I doubt there's a clear cut broadcast scheduling source that people are extracting this information from. I decided to remove the month and day, not only for aesthetically appearance/consistency, but because there was no sources for the dates, and that rounding them down to the year(s) only would be the best representation.

The last version of my revision is located here. Whisternefet (talk) 23:11, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

List is Highly Inaccurate

This page has many things wrong with it to name a few: 1. You list shows that have never been owned or licensed to Turner from Hanna Barbera, such as Drak Pack and Harlem Globetrotters. Because of this neither program has ever aired on Cartoon Network 2. THe list also misses out on some of the HB and RS shows Cartoon Network was in fact aired in the past. Caps of Trollkins and Turbo Teen are two you can find via google with the logo proving it did once air there 3. You split the DC shows up even though DC has always retained rights to their shows, hence forth why there are current discussions for why shows like the Plastic Man Comedy Hour has not been reassmbled or shown in one piece on DVD or on tv. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.176.34 (talk) 21:33, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

List of blocks

I actually recall seeing a very detailed list of past programming blocks on this page before. Can it be restored? I do not see it on here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.53.83.234 (talk) 03:54, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Eliot Kid and Fantastic Four

The show Eliot Kid, although only broadcast on Cartoon Network EMEA, Russia and Latin America, officially it's not Cartoon Network European co-production. Instead, the show Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes is really an European co-production, because the CN's executive producers of the show are from Europe (Suzanne Berman and Daniel Lennard), and also is aired in US. The official sources (for the ending credits) are:

Luigi1090 (talk).

For Eliot Kid, references to Cartoon Network are not typically seen in the credits, rather, after the credits, making this unreliable. As for Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, I can assure you that it is not a European Co-Production, due to Cartoon Network not having anything to do with production of the program. Also, the creator's nationality has absolutely nothing to do with it being a European Co-Production. If it the program was produced in the United States, for example, and the creators had previously (or still) live in Asia, it would still not be a Co-Production. --Toonipedia (talk) 01:16, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Big Bag

The show Big Bag, like The Moxy Show and Space Ghost Coast to Coast, officially is a Cartoon Network original series because, the CN's executive producers of the show, are exactly the same that were present in other shows of the channel in the 90's (an example is What a Cartoon!).

Official source: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP6xm_Ksens (for the ending credits).

Luigi1090 (talk).

While they had indeed worked on the show, it was not technically an original series, as Cartoon Network did not have anything to do with the production of the show. They merely aired it. Big Bag is technically Syndicated. --Toonipedia (talk) 00:53, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

The Annoying Orange

The show The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, is officially an "original live-action/animated series", because in the show there are the executive producers from the main channel (Cartoon Network). They are Conrad Montgomery and Curtis Lelash; the latter (Curtis Lelash) is already present in some CN Studios series.

Official source: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZEdhcXnFoY (for the ending credits).

Luigi1090 (talk).

Thank you for your contributions, but I must inform you that this information already exists within the article. --Toonipedia (talk) 00:56, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Is Semi-Protection truly necessary?

Why is semi-protection necessary? While this page is indeed currently having somewhat of a problem with false or unsourced edits made by users, many of those users actually have accounts on Wikipedia, which means that they can still edit the page, and as for IP users, sending them a message concerning not adding things without a source works equally as well. In addition, this not the kind of article that would typically need to be locked. If it is a popular or frequently visited article (such as SpongeBob SquarePants and/or The Simpsons), an article of significant importance (such as historical or scientifically-related articles), or an article that is relentlessly vandalized, I can certainly see why it would need to be locked, but locking it due to users adding unsourced information seems a bit extreme. I truly believe there are different ways to go about this issue. Also, I believe it would probably be best to at least discuss this on the talk page before making a decision of this scale, as other users may not agree with this conclusion. --Toonipedia (talk) 19:24, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

The reason I requested semi-protection is due to those anonymous editors rapidly making changes to the page (usually) without explanation or a source to back up their claims. As a result of so many changes being made, the article simply does not appear to be stable, and its accuracy is therefore questionable. I try to review all the changes to pages like this one on my watchlist in a given day, but when so many edits have been made, it is difficult to keep up with them all. Off topic, but in the future, please do not remove others' topics without proper reason, as it is against the talk page guidelines. Paper Luigi TC 22:57, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

That sounds like a reasonable conclusion. Thank you for clearing this up for me. As for the removal of other users topics, I did it only because the issues had already been resolved, but thank you for informing me of this. It won't happen again. --Toonipedia (talk) 00:42, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Cartoonstitute

As of now, this list includes most or all of the Cartoonstitute shorts in the pilot section. The problem here is that these shorts weren't actually broadcast on the TV station, but they did appear on CN Video. Do we need to include web-only content in this list? If we choose to do so, it needs to be mentioned in the article's lead. Also, the "Web Premiere Toons" series from the late '90s to early '00s are basically in the same bucket as the Cartoonstitute cartoons, so would they need to be added as well? Paper Luigi TC 05:15, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Constant Unexplained Removals of Content

I see that large amounts of content that were previously present on the article not long ago are now missing, including the blocks section. It is also possible that shows are missing from the article as well, considering that the "Programs previously broadcast" section appears to have much less content. Why is this? Are sources needed? Please clear this up for me. On a side note, I don't think programs that have never been broadcast in the US should be given Parental Guideline ratings, considering this type has only been used in the United States. Can anybody explain to me why this is? Thanks. --Toonipedia (talk) 01:08, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Semi-protection

I think it is time to request Semi-protection yet again - IP Users are frequently making false/unsourced edits, and it is becoming extremely irritating to revert the edits on a regular basis. The article has been in a crisis like this for quite some time - while I am not completely sure if this justifies a Semi-protection, I think it would be wise to request Semi-Protection for the time-being so the article can stay reliable. --Toonipedia (talk) 14:32, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Number of Episodes

An episode is considered a 30 minute segment, with the lone exception being Space Ghost. If you go by the logic that Adventure Time has episodes that are 15 minutes, giving it 150 episodes, then Dexter's Laboratory had 221 episodes. 65.30.30.252 (talk) 04:56, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi, it's unclear what your point is. If you have a problem with the way the episode tally is being reported at Adventure Time, you should bring it up there. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:04, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Tiny Toon Adventures

I have a doubt, why in former programming appears Tiny Toon Adventures (1999-2001) (2002-2013). As far as I know, Tiny Toons was in Cartoon Network between '99 and '01. Or is coming back? Manu.

Candidate for Deletion?

Why exactly is this a candidate for deletion? Most networks have a list of programs article to accompany the network's article, so this kind of is needed, especially for the amount of programs aired on the network. This is really one of the only reliable and quickly accessible lists on the internet. It upsets me that this article could be deleted. If its a tidiness problem, I will admit the article needs work (sources, format, etc.), but that certainly isn't worth deletion.--74.110.141.60 (talk) 16:59, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Revamp

I have revamped the list, making everything tabular as well as removing information on marathons, which are not "programming" in the sense of this article and are poorly sourced (recordings from YouTube and such). Some things are incomplete, such as the "Distributor" column under "Former acquired (live-action) series". I plan to fill this out, but some help would be appreciated. – 23W (talk · contribs) 23:50, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Under former acquired series

There is a "show" called the Dingbats, but upon clicking the link it is shown to not be a show, but a sort of typesetting. I don't know if it's a real show, but the link is incorrect. So someone could fix that up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.9.45.244 (talk) 06:18, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Should there be another shorts section?

There appears to be a section for "Acquired animated short series", which includes DC Nation in it. Because Mixels is not acquired (it is a collaboration between LEGO and Cartoon Network), I moved it to the original animated series section. Since there is a section for acquired animated short series, should there be a series for original animated short series (for Mixels)? AClockworkOrange2 (talk) 16:50, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Adult Swim shows

In all honesty, I don't really think that any of the Adult Swim shows that aired before the split qualify for inclusion on this list. You see, Adult Swim was always a separate block aimed at a different crowd than the main Cartoon Network. Should the shows stay on the list, or should they go?

Separating shows created for cartoon network but listed as acquired.

I've noticed that shows that were made for the channel but are not made by Cartoon Network Studios are listed as acquired series. This includes post-Kids WB shows made by Warner Brothers Animation, such as Batman Brave and the Bold, The Looney Tunes Show, Teen Titans Go!, etc., along with a few other non WB Animation shows (sonic boom, Dragons: Riders of Berk, etc). Perhaps we should either A: List shows not made by cartoon network studios but still made explicitly for cartoon network under original programming, or B: Give said shows their own category. I myself can't do anything about it yet because of the page being semi protected so I'll come back later after being automatically confirmed. I'm bringing this up now because these changes I'm proposing are major enough that there could be some backlash. Zemblant (talk) 19:53, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Removal of rerun fluff

In this edit I have removed content about repeats. Wikipedia is not not IMDb and we're not here to catalog every aspect of everything this network broadcast, only the most important. WP:NOTINDISCRIMATE states, "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information". "Repeats of ended acquired series" does not connote any inherent notability. So CN acquired a property that they didn't make, and then aired it as filler? What academic purpose is being fulfilled? The section only adds to the crufty nature of these list articles. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:30, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

This may not have any bearing on notability, but I must add that historically, Cartoon Network has been a re-run haven for archival material owned by Turner or Warner Bros. (i.e. Hanna-Barbera, MGM, etc.). ElectricBurst(Electron firings)(Zaps) 02:37, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Hi Electricburst1996, and your point is what, exactly? That because this is a network that reruns a lot of content, that we should focus on those reruns? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:39, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
I wasn't explicitly or implicitly saying that. Re-runs would have made more sense if we were in, say, 1995, but since it's 2015 and CN has more first-run content now than they've ever had, it wouldn't be all that important to catalog re-runs. ElectricBurst(Electron firings)(Zaps) 16:29, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

These shows are currently airing, and so is in the currently airing spot. Theexploringgamer (talk) 16:27, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

This answer does not directly address my complaints that reruns are not inherently notable, and that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. Since we are also not TV Guide, any suggestion that we are required to catalog all series currently running, is not supported by regular community editing. Got anything stronger? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:23, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

By the way, even though technically this argument is finished, I want to note that the excuse that this isn't IMDB is a bad excuse. Considering that Wikipedia has articles about channels, programs of channels, shows, episode lists, even some articles for every single episode such as Doctor Who. Theexploringgamer (talk) 17:57, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Pokemon

I added Pokemon as a current series AND rerun, because technically, Season 17 and Season 18 are known as different series throughout our Pokemon Fanbase. I also did it because Total Drama, Bakugan, and Beyblade are all listed as seperate series as well. Theexploringgamer (talk) 18:01, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Personally, I don't think we need to list every single Pokemon season as a separate series. For brevity's sake, let's just say it's just "Pokemon" and say it began in 2002. ElectricBurst(Electron firings)(Zaps) 19:19, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

I'm fine with not putting it as multiple series, but I really do think, just like how Total Drama is not called Total Drama, Pokemon should have it's current listing name of Pokemon: The Series XY — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theexploringgamer (talkcontribs) 18:49, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Zzzz...

Cartoon Network's schedule is just boring and repetitive now, with the schedule consisting of mostly Gumball and TTG reruns for like 70% of the day. There's barely any upcoming programming except for a WBB spin-off. That's it. I feel like CN is just gonna merge into HBO Max at this point, since Tig N' Seek and The Fungies, two shows that were supposed to air on CN, are now moving to Max. Pierce2000 (talk) 02:40, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Re-add Sonic Boom to the former acquired programming

I'd do this myself, but the page is protected because of vandalism. I'm sure these edits were done in good faith, but the user said that the show was still airing on CN because of a few occasional reruns and it's presence on the website. Well, yes, it's still on the CN website, but this is a list of shows that are airing on the NETWORK. Anything on the website is, as thus, irrelevant.

As for the reruns on the network.... I have no idea what schedule he was using, because there have NOT been any reruns for basically the whole year on Cartoon Network. I check the schedule almost every day, and wanna know how much Sonic Boom has been shown (new episodes or reruns) since January 2017? NONE. It's not just Boomerang getting episodes first, it's that no new episodes or reruns are airing on CN, PERIOD.

Jellystone should be moved to the former programming area because CN stopped airing it back in November

Need to add Skatoony to the list of previously aired programs, under the Live Action/Animated list for acquired series. EdisonTheFox (talk) 22:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Pilots shorts

I was thinking that maybe we split that section into a single article. There are a lot of pilots and development shorts (that's not even including: What a Cartoon!, The Cartoonstitute, and CN Shorts Department). I think it's possible to have it all in one article. Changed all the "Cartoonito programming" subheadings to simply "preschool" because it's a more neutral term. Not all shows were officially part of Cartoonito yet. This would include: Big Bag, Baby Looney Tunes, Krypto the Superdog, Firehouse Tales, Cave Kids (acquired HB Production).

Also, it's "Programming from Warner Bros. Discovery" not "Programming from other Warner Bros. networks." 2601:152:5080:9D30:C099:4E68:392B:196F (talk) 21:30, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
