Silly Idea. Dont bother. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.219.191.135 (talkcontribs) 14:32, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is silly? Merging Avon Dam Reservoir? If you say so. I just felt that there was unlikely to be enough to say about any individual reservoir to justify separate pages. Or if you think Dartmoor reservoirs are a silly idea, well I think the farmers who were forced to evacuate their homes would agree with you. Coords needed[edit]

Since there is no location information for any of these reservoirs (except that they are all on Dartmoor) this is one place where it would be useful to have a table of geo-coords to link to external map resources.

Requested move 9 August 2022[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved to List of reservoirs on Dartmoor. After almost a month, the proposed move is unopposed. As for the proper preposition,(say that five times fast) we have "of" per the Commons category and a local magazine or "on" per the below and the official Dartmoor tourism website. This closer has chosen "on" per the below and shortened the proposed title per Smalljim's WP:CONCISE point. If someone else thinks the preposition absolutely needs changing, they are free to open another discussion. • Comment. It would be on Dartmoor! -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:34, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment "'of' Dartmoor" ? -- 64.229.88.43 (talk) 05:43, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Commons:Category:Reservoirs of Dartmoor uses "of". Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:50, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Qualified support. A good idea, but do we need "dams and"? There are no dams without reservoirs in the list and unlikely to be any, so those two words seem redundant. And I'd prefer "on Dartmoor", or possibly "in" or "within" "the Dartmoor National Park". Incidentally, I note that Commons has "Reservoirs of Dartmoor", a sub-cat of "Reservoirs in Devon". "List of reservoirs of Dartmoor" would be too ugly.  —Smalljim  17:28, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
