for specific targeting, volunteer help needed[edit]

Pinging a few recent and past editors: User:Unofficialwikicorrector, User:Mike Peel, User:Ehrenkater, User:RowdyRhubarb, User:Rocknrollmancer, User:Dankarran...

I just set up what I call "row anchors" (related to {{anchor}} template) for all 41 of the "A" roads, so that redirects like A6 road (Isle of Man) can redirect specifically to their appropriate rows like List of roads in the Isle of Man#A6 road, instead of just to the top of this list article. I refined redirects for A1 through A7. All inbound redirects for A roads (you can find these in "what links here") should be similarly refined. And row anchors and redirects for B roads etc. should be set up the same way. This goes beyond what I personally wanna do anytime soon (I am working on Registered Buildings and Conservations Areas of the Isle of Man instead and could use help there too), but volunteer help to continue this out would be appreciated. If you can do some, please note here your starting and ending points. Thanks! --Doncram (talk) 04:24, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

My edits here were wikignome rather than substantive, so I can't really help. It would be nice if there were articles for each road, rather than redirects, though. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 18:27, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mike Peel: But hey, wikignoming is exactly what is needed! It doesn't require substantive knowledge about the topics. And there's a fair amount of it to do. So, I am sorry but I cannot accept your bowing out. :) --Doncram (talk) 19:44, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that the mass redirecting in 2011 was not the right call here - per WP:GEOROAD national roads are generally notable. While there has been some ambiguity in how it applies in the UK (generally B class roads are not notable, and some of the lower A class roads were merged away) - to say that there is no national road in the Isle of Man that is notable most national roads in the Isle of Man are not notable flies in the face of GEOROAD. --Rschen7754 16:35, 18 March 2023 (UTC) (edited 16:47, 18 March 2023 (UTC))[reply]
That being said, I will be removing the list of the C, D, and U roads since those are generally not considered notable even for a list. In my opinion it is best to focus on splitting out the A roads again and refining the B list. @Agljones: --Rschen7754 16:43, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
