Which settlements?[edit]

This article needs to define which areas are considered for each named place - in particular, where does the Bamber Bridge figure come from , why does Lancaster's figure disagree with its article (ditto Preston, etc?

As you found, that is by design and for simplicity - with this 'list of settlements' measure, the main clusters of built environment throughout the county are identified, with the most prominent suburb(s) used to label each by the OS. Subdivisions are determined by gaps within the urban area and as those differ from authority boundaries, population will too.

Multiple issues tag[edit]

Hi PamD, I see you've added two tags on the article, am autobiographical or related subject and an update required. This article isn't about a human so cannot speak for that one, as to the other the article cannot be updated until ONS/Nomis release the conglomerations data, which has been forthcoming since this time last year, and which is only released post censuses, although I thought I saw a Census 2021 guideline stating they will release it more often in the future. @The Equalizer Autobig was a typo caused by dreadful mobile interface making it difficult to use dropdown menu of tags, sorry about that. It needed an update, and Dr Greg has done it. Nothing in Wikipeda should refer to 2021 as the future. PamD 15:07, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
