List of tallest buildings in Des Moines → List of tallest buildings in Iowa — I propose renaming this article the List of tallest buildings in Iowa since not only are all of these buildings the tallest in Des Moines, they appear to be the tallest in Iowa. Split?[edit]

I vote strong No to the proposed split. Editors can always create pages "Tallest Buildings in Des Moines", etc. on their own without splitting this page. To be honest, there aren't that many tall buildings in Iowa, our tallest would only rank no. 63 in New York City, our second tallest would not even be listed.

Have not seen anyone actually post a reason for the proposed split, and unless one appears in the next few days, I will remove the proposal from the article. Thanks, Bill Whittaker (talk) 13:07, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bill, since you proposed the name merge, do you think it should be moved back to Des Moines buildings? If only one is Cedar Rapids...and this is the only state as a whole listed at Template:US tallest buildings lists. CTJF83 pride 21:20, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... My original thought was that Iowa has so few tall buildings that it is better to lump them all as one state, rather than having innumerable piddly pages: "Tallest Buildings in Waterloo", "Tallest Buildings in Floyd", etc. Also, I am interested in tall Iowa buildings before the current capitol, these would all be outside Des Moines, hence my interest in the Davenport college.
