Table Enhancement Request: 1) abbreviations and 2) metrics for use or population

I would really like to see the abbreviations for each timezone in a separate column. I would also like to see another column with metrics for degree of use or for population in each time zone. Database Needs an Update to fix Several Articles

Articles such as CST6CDT are broken due to the database on this page. I doubt it's because the tz database was out of date or something (I don't know much about the tz database), but whatever entry in the database that needs to be added should be to repair this article. CST6CDT is a legacy timezone from System V days [source code]. Should this page even exist? I assume this list is for *active * time zones that have TZ environment variable. Skfd (talk) 19:53, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Method to generate this page

There is no such code as an author. Just update it, referencing the source. Ignore the alarm.

Hi, this page shows that it is using 2014b version of Tz database, however the time offset for Asia/Pyongyang is updated based on 2015f. CSubrata1106 (talk) 21:26, 29 September 2015 (UTC)subrata

Done. Hopefully I did it right. I had to also update Template:Time zone/version. I'm not sure if I should update the other templates or not - seems like a lot of duplication and outdated info in them. Any ideas about those? Note - I wrote some utility code to help generate the file programmatically, from TZDB sources - so I can update this with each TZDB release. If anyone is interested, LMK and I will post the code somewhere. (It is just a C# .NET console application.) mj1856 (talk) 05:39, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
