Volcán Tacaná[edit]

I have found no source stating a prominence measure for Tacana; nor is this peak in any ultra list. At the Volcán Tacaná article, it had (I have since removed it) given a prominence of 1,800 m with a citation to the Smithsonian GVP website. The gvp source makes a statement about the volcano rising 1,800 m above a plain. This is a subjective, inexact and general commentary about the local relief around the volcano. It is not, and not intended to be, a objective or exacting measure of the strictly defined concept of topographic prominence.

With no source listing Tacana as an ultra prominent peak, I am planning on removing it from this list, but first honoring the request in the edit window that we give a few days on the discussion page before making major changes to the list.--Racerx11 (talk) 05:03, 29 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
