siegfried and roy/Mind is the magic

Siegfried and roy and mind is the magic is one and the same unreleased song or rare song. Mind is the magic was made 1989/1990 and was intended for Dangerous. Didnt make the cut. Later on it was also intended for the special edition of Dangerous but no unreleased or rare track was added. There is no exact source to article source to find this information which is the story with some songs on the list unless you find some in the singer hall of fame under MJ. But the similiarities are strikingly obvious and how many song would Mj write for siegfried and roy. The best links is these which state the obvious:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeX_M-0dsr0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeoWugcpwEQ&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmvTWrQRx4A

http://www.amazon.fr/Mind-Magic-Siegfried-Michael-Jackson/dp/B002HD1ODK http://steady-laughing.com/disography/other/mindisthemagic.htm

Its obvious. BTW great job on creating this page. It was needed.A Star Is Here (talk) 21:07, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

YouTube is not a reliable source. The reliable sources that I have state that "Mind is the Magic" is a seperate song from "Siegried & Roy". "Mind is the Magic" was released on Siegried and Roy's 1995 album Dreams & Illusions. The other song remains unreleased. Pyrrhus16 21:29, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Okay and hot fever was eventually released on Bad, What about Us, which is just as obvious as Siegfred and Roy/Mind is the magic, was eventually released on History, Starlight was eventually released on Thriller, Serious Effect was eventually released on The Ultimate Collection. So the reason why your trying to excluded something thats so obvious is strange to me. The song was written at the same time for the same album for the same people. I never said youtube was a reliable source I said it was the best link that states the obvious cause it helps to show what the song eventually evolved too. I will restore it based on original research. If we cant solve this problem then I'll have to ask a mediator or an admin to help us solve this minor problem. A Star Is Here (talk) 21:06, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Come on!

Okay why is the very last song on the list (I can't remember the name) there? It was written by Stevie Wonder and Jermaine and Janet sang it with Michael's backup vocals, then it featured him later, since when is that the "soul" work of Michael Jackson? Seriously!--72.9.23.193 (talk) 22:52, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

The list includes unreleased songs which include Jackson as a guest performer. Where in the article does it state that the songs in the article only feature Jackson? Pyrrhus16 22:55, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

If I can remember correctly, we had a dispute about this earlier where you stated that the song HAD to be the "soul" work of Jackson. Remember?--69.72.86.131 (talk) 01:48, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

That's because The Jackson 5 were involved in the recording of the song. This list excludes material recorded by Michael and The Jackson 5/Jacksons, as a new article will be created for their songs. This list incorporates songs (including Jackson 5 ones) recorded solely by Jackson and unreleased songs featuring Jackson, but not the rest of his brothers. Pyrrhus16 20:27, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Xscape/Escape

Xscape is actually titled Escape. It was mislabeled as Xscape by the fans. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.49.37.31 (talk) 05:32, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Work That Body

A song called "Work That Body" was recorded for "Dangerous". A leaked version is available online. It's not listed on this page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.166.23.133 (talk) 21:39, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Another Day

I removed the reference to the "fully mixed track leaked February 2010" as this is not the case. A fan made extended version was circulating but as of yet the *true* complete version has not leaked (at least not en-masse, some traders may have it). --:: ehmjay (talk) 02:53, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

2007 album

Why do you keep on removing the 2007 album section I put on there? Chelo61 (talk) 19:04, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

The song "Fall again" is actually released on The Ultimate Collection. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.178.188.219 (talk) 22:48, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

"Fall Again" was released as a demo version on The Ultimate Collection. The finished song is still unreleased. Hugo Heinen (talk) 12:21, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

"Fall Again" was never finished by Jackson while still alive, if will be released in the future, Sony will be responsible for the final cut.180.191.98.91 (talk) 14:53, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

Michael songs

When the album is released, will the songs be deleted, seeing as how they are no longer "unreleased"? MaJic Talk 2 Me. I'll Listen. 07:26, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

I suggest a separate section (or article) listing songs released after he died. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 14:09, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. MaJic (comments go here) 04:43, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
List of Posthumous Michael Jackson songs? A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 11:37, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

I think posthumous songs' list must be included in the Unrelesed Songs' list for they are all previously-unreleased. 120.28.64.76 (talk) 11:49, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

In that case all MJ songs would be included, as they were all "unreleased" at some point. IMO, this article should only include songs that have not been released -- that's what makes them unreleased. - SummerPhD (talk) 17:22, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

What do I mean here is, sections of posthumous and unreleased are separated, but both in the Unrelesed Songs article 180.191.72.199 (talk) 16:23, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

There isn't a "section" for unreleased songs on this page, all of the songs on "List of unreleased Michael Jackson material" are, by definition, unreleased. Songs released after MJ died do not belong on a list of unreleased material. - SummerPhD (talk) 18:43, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

Then, how about the "Future Albums" section in that article? 180.191.64.135 (talk) 15:35, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

That section discusses the estates plans to release some of the unreleased material remaining after Jackson's death. Yes, it briefly mentions one album that came out. IMO, that's not off-topic. Listing the material on that and/or future releases would be. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:16, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Unreleased songs in this list which were included on the Michael album

Have there been any unreleased songs that were on the list, but have since been removed that were released for inclusion as part of the Michael album? Jim856796 (talk) 22:46, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Sunset Driver

Sunset Driver was a demo released on the Ultimate Collection. Is there a reason why this amazing song isn't on the list? 207.177.213.110 (talk) 16:15, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

You Were There

Where is this song? He performed it one time in 1990 but it never became a single or was published on a cd/album. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KanzlerKreuz (talkcontribs) 22:19, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Deleted songs

Can someone tell me why the songs are deleted from the list, which Michael Jackson worked on in 2009 with Michael Durham Prince and which were registered with the United States Copyright Office in 2010? A snippet of 'I am a loser' leaked this month and I'm sure this were songs Michael Jackson worked on. Hugo Heinen (talk) 12:19, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

I have recently removed a number of songs that did not cite reliable sources. There are several more tagged as "citation needed" that I will remove in a few days. Feel free to re-add any that are verifiable, with appropriate sources. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 12:55, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I will add 'I am a loser' to the list, because two snippets leaked on to the internet. I think the registration with the United States Copyright Office is a source. I'm sure they won't register songs which do not exist. Hugo Heinen (talk) 13:47, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
If a reliable source is cited there is no problem. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:13, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Do you think the registration with the United States Copyright Office is a reliable source? Hugo Heinen (talk) 14:26, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
It would show the song exists. Anything else (recorded, leaked, etc.) wouldn't be included, obviously. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:41, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
The songs you deleted were registered with the Copyright Office, so they do exist. Hugo Heinen (talk) 14:49, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm not saying any of them do or do not exist. I'm saying none of them were cited. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:30, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
But, if the songs do exist. Why aren't they on this list? The writers of the song and the year of writing were known, one snippet of 'I am a loser' leaked ([1]) and they were registered with the United States Copyright Office and still they aren't cited? I thought this is a list with all unreleased songs of the King of Pop, but those songs do exist and they aren't on the list? If they do exist, does it matter if they're cited? Hugo Heinen (talk) 17:39, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
They aren't on the list because they weren't sourced. Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that anyone can edit. As a result, Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that everybody edits. While most editors edit in good faith, there are vandals who, essentially, make stuff up. Beyond that, we have good faith mistakes (adding, say, the 1978 album Pleasure[2] by "Sting" under Sting (musician)). As a result, we have to constantly clean out the garbage: fake stuff and mistaken additions. Recently, this included deleting two articles on MJ albums: one an apparent rare demo (but not a notable one) and another that was apparently entirely fictitious. So here I am, taking out the trash. If you see something labeled as trash ("citation needed") and know it isn't, please save it (by citing it). The same applies to the trash I've already taken out. - SummerPhD (talk) 18:07, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Can I add 'I am a loser' to the list, or isn't Michael who sang the snippets? Hugo Heinen (talk) 18:57, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
If you have a reliable source saying that it is an unreleased Michael Jackson song, you'll have no problems from me. - SummerPhD (talk) 21:03, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Okay. Hugo Heinen (talk) 07:47, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Due to vandalism/hoaxes in related articles, I will be challenging any unsourced additions to this article. (See WP:V "You may remove any material lacking a reliable source that directly supports it.") All material in this article will need an in-line citation from a reliable source. (Keep in mind, blogs, forums, Wikipedia, etc. are not reliable sources.) I've removed several songs already, and tagged several more that I will be removing shortly. Once all of the entirely unsourced songs are gone, there is clearly other unsourced material here (where details are newer than the source cited for the song). Some of the supposed "leaks" here are bogus (cf. WP:LEAK). While there may be snippets floating around out there, there is nothing to verify that they are from the song in question. They may be misattributed (wrong song, not Jackson, etc.) or they may have been constructed by someone with a decent computer and too much free time. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 12:12, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for cleaning up this article. 120.28.64.76 (talk) 11:45, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

Love never felt so good

The song Love Never Felt So Good isn't unreleased anymore: it was released on the promo CD single of Best Of Joy (see the tracklist [3]). Hugo Heinen (talk) 07:52, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

So fix it. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:31, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Lisa it's your bithday & Do the Bartman

Michael Jackson wrote Lisa it's your birthday and Do the Bartman for the Simpsons and recorded the demo's. The demo of Lisa it's your birthday has been leaked on the internet. I want to add this songs to this list, but I can not find a reliable source. Does anyone know where I can find a reliable source, because Wikipedia isn't a reliable source? I've already made a table for this songs but I can not add it, because of the reliable sources.

Song Writer(s) Notes Ref
"Do the Bartman" Michael Jackson [citation needed]
"Lisa, it's your birthday" Michael Jackson
  • Written during the Dangerous-sessions for The Simpsons
  • Later sung by Bart Simpson
  • The demo has been leaked on the internet.
  • Also known as "Happy birthday Lisa".
[citation needed]

Thanks. Hugo Heinen (talk) 18:26, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

I expect you'll have little trouble sourcing "Do the Bartman". Calling it "unreleased Michael Jackson material", OTOH, will be difficult. - SummerPhD (talk) 18:36, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Apparently, "Happy Birthday, Lisa" will be similarly situated (see Songs_in_the_Key_of_Springfield#Track_listing). - SummerPhD (talk) 18:39, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I saw on the page of Dangerous this source to Lisa, it's your birthday: [4]. Is this a reliable source? Hugo Heinen (talk) 15:43, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
No, fan sites are not reliable sources. And, to repeat, "Happy Birthday , Lisa" was release on Songs_in_the_Key_of_Springfield. - SummerPhD (talk) 15:28, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
But MJ's version is still unreleased, isn't it and why does the Dangerous page use this as a source? Hugo Heinen (talk) 15:42, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
We need a reliable source indicating that there is an "MJ version". The fansite shows a typewritten page over a CDR. It says the "rarest in the world" disc is "invaluable". Whatever. How did the website owner come upon this supposed disc? Ze doesn't say. Why should be believe it exists or is what it purports to be? It's a self published source of unknown origin with nothing indicating that it is reliable. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:36, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Songs sourced to Halstead

Some of the material here is sourced to Halstead's 2007 book, with facts from well after that point. Granted, a song from prior to 2007 may have been recorded or leaked after that date, so those facts are unsourced. However, there are numerous songs written in 2009 and 2010 sourced to this 2007 book. I'm guessing someone "addressed" my request for cites by simply copying an existing cite from elsewhere. I guess I'll have to have my grad pull this book and simply yank the ones that fail verification. If anyone has an alternate explanation or can otherwise source these, feel free. - SummerPhD (talk) 15:12, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Upon further review, I am unable to reconcile these edits. In addition to the date problem mentioned above, all of the songs restored were given the same source. The first half (alphabetically) were cited to pages 6-20. Halfway through, the source switches to pages 251-253. I'm removing all of that batch again. If anyone has a reliable source that actually mentions these songs, feel free. - SummerPhD (talk) 15:44, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

It's funny unbelievable that new material is still showing up sourced to this same source. Looks like I'm going to have to have her pull the book so I can yank the phonies once and for all. If anyone has any real sources for these suspicious additions, please add them now. - SummerPhD (talk) 23:46, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Leaks

Per WP:LEAK, "Do not add leak dates to articles unless a notable consequence of the leak can be properly sourced to the same regular, reliable media sources that would be expected for any other content in the album's article."

Some anonymous person posting on a fan forum somewhere that they are providing a link (to another unreliable site) tells us that some anonymous person is providing a link to a page that has a file that some other anonymous person says is MJ performing whatever song. We have no way of verifying that it is what it claims to be. We need reliable sources stating that 1) the song has been leaked and 2) that the leak "results in some other action that is notable, such as being directly responded to by the musical artist or their management, or the leak itself receiving broad media coverage". Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 14:25, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

I see your point, but I would like to challenge it a bit.
- First because the songs mentioned where not difficult to obtain. Ie even without proper sources the "fact" was/is out there,
- Second because I feel I have lost valuable information that was stored here earliere in a rather professional form and,
- Thirdly because we are not talking politics, personal harrassment, wikileaks etc - 100% documentation seems in this case a bit over the top. I did read the WP:LEAKS sections, but it seems marked on controversial matters mostly.
In my view it was clearly marked in the songs that the leak-information was in no way trustworthy and was a rumour. Despite this, as I mentioned, it has been possible to obtain the leaks with little effort. That means that the information was correct though no "reliable source" or "management reaction" was in eyesight.
Your point of anonymous persons is spot on - i heard it through the grapewine etc etc - a lot of these rumours floats around and are worthless and clouds the mind. But I have not seen this issue in wikipedia. Can you please direct me to some cases where the leak-information was fake? With this in mind i might change stand.
If the case is that Wikipedia or "management" has given you a warning I fully understand.
Radagastdk (talk) 20:05, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
First, files with the names of the songs are out there. Are the MJ? Are they the song listed? Who's to say? Look around enough and you'll find well known songs by well known artists uploaded under various other titles by various other artists.
Second, the "valuable information" you feel you have lost is an undocumented pile of claims by persons unknown. They aren't even rumors as -- near as we can tell -- one person (whoever added it to this article) is making the claim. Yeah, it might be a "rumor" and might be true, half-true or hopelessly misconstrued. Alternately, someone may have simply made it up for whatever reason.
Third, WP:LEAK is not discussing the need for documentation of controversial claims of leaks. Rather, it is discussing documentation showing that the leak was controversial in some way (i.e., resulted in a court case, caused changes to be made to the album, etc.) as one of the few reasons to include that a leak occurred.
At bottom, what I removed was unverifiable information. Any editor "may remove any material lacking a reliable source that directly supports it." WP:Verifiability
As for cases where information was apparently fake material, we found nothing at all supporting the existence of a supposedly forthcoming Michael Jackson album allegedly called Legacy. Similarly, we weren't able to find any reliable sources for the supposed Promo (Flight Only). It is, of course, impossible to prove they do not exist, as with all of the material I've removed. However, we don't try to prove it wrong. We try to prove it is right. If we are unable to prove it is right, we remove it. Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 22:54, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

If the argument is that we cannot prove that any material is genuine Michael Jackson, this DMCA takedown notice (posted September 2011) references links to sites hosting music which Sony and the Michael Jackson Estate claim copyright to. This should be enough to show that the material is genuine? However, it goes no way in showing that the leak was 'controversial' in any way. RetepNamenots (talkcontribs) 23:40, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Do you have reliable sources showing the material is genuine? Without seeing the source, there's nothing to evaluate. - SummerPhD (talk) 03:07, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, here is the source. As a complaint filed by Sony Music / Epic Records / Estate of Michael Jackson it would show that the material linked to is genuine. http://www.chillingeffects.org/notice.cgi?sID=119250 RetepNamenots (talkcontribs) 14:46, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
This demonstrates that Sony and the estate claim to own the copyright to the files at those locations. Jackson, of course, owned copyrights to numerous songs he neither wrote nor recorded. That the website ordered to take them down listed them with titles and attributed them to Jackson does not mean that the songs were actually known by those titles or that the songs were written or recorded by Jackson. - SummerPhD (talk) 02:09, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Ultimate Collection

Some demos were featured un the CD Michael Jackson: The Ultimate Collection. Aren't the finished versions still unreleased? for example Beautiful Girl, Cheater and Fall Again. Hugo Heinen (talk) 18:24, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Cheater (Michael Jackson song) is released as a single off the ultimate collection & has a music video with it Stevie Kay (talk) 20:23, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

The music video remains still unreleased. Hugo Heinen (talk) 20:25, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Okay, there is a video clip, but this is an compilation of the Dangerous World Tour in Bucharest. Hugo Heinen (talk) 20:26, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

The song isnt unreleased is says on the page itself " The demo version of the song was later released on September 14, 2004 as a single from Jackson's The Ultimate Collection box set compilation. After being sent to US and UK radio stations, the full commercial release of "Cheater" was cancelled for unspecified reasons, turning the song into a promotional release." Also its states for the music video on the same page "A music video was also shown on some channels; it features clips from the Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour DVD, which was included in the same album the song appears in." And finally For Beautiful girl the unreleased song its states alongside cheater that ""Beautiful Girl", "Scared of the Moon", "We've Had Enough", and "Cheater" – remained unreleased until the compilation's release." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevie Kay (talkcontribs) 21:03, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

A Place With No Name

I know YouTube isn't a reliable source, but a purported demo of "A Place with No Name" was leaked earlier this year, and I just happened to stumble upon it. However it's not an actual MJ demo, but a demo performed by an artist named "Spino" which was probably recorded to give to MJ as a possible track for an album (likely Invincible). It sounds pretty convincing, but I did a long google search on this guy, and I couldn't find anything on him. Was the name a pseudonym, perhaps? 24.222.194.150 (talk) 03:09, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Your first links didn't show Jackson at all. This batch shows "JACKSON MICHAEL JOE" as one of three composers for each of the songs I checked. This article, at present, is not a list of every song Jackson wrote (whether alone or with others). The existing concensus is that this article "...only documents the songs explicitly cited as being unreleased and, therefore, does not contain every unreleased Jackson song registered..." (in the article's first paragraph). If you believe we should alter this, you will need to gain a new consensus on this talk page. - SummerPhD (talk) 00:48, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

These 12 songs are unreleased and in 2010 only 3 were released in the 2010 "Michael" album.

All 12 of these songs were written by Michael Jackson, Eddie Cascio, and James Porte and recorded in 2007

Here's some videos where the co-writer talks about it

The 3 that were released are, obviously, not "unreleased". As for the others, we need reliable sources where they are "explicitly cited as being unreleased". - SummerPhD (talk) 04:48, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

Can someone please re add the Cascio songs

As you see these tracks are UNRELEASED and should be on this list.

I don't see no evidence for the other songs so why are they not removed ? Why only these 12 songs which I have provided creditable evidence for ?

These songs were written by Michael Jackson, Eddie Cascio, and James Porte in 2007 in New Jersey 3 of these tracks (Keep Your Head Up, Monster, Breaking News) were released in the 2010 album "MICHAEL".

The reason that these songs are not listed is because of the following statement in the article - "This list, however, only documents the songs explicitly cited as being unreleased and, therefore, does not contain every unreleased Jackson song registered with such bodies." To add these songs, we need a source saying that they are unreleased; the ones that are on the list have that. The ones you have shown us above do not. The reason we can only list songs that are explicitly cited as being unreleased is to satisfy Wikipedia's policy that there should be no original research. Pyrrhus16 08:50, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

June 2012

Recently, some IP Adresses have been like adding quite a lot of new info, saying that some unreleased songs were leaked on June, 2012, without citing references. Do you need to? Also, this page should be protected or semi protected as it gets vandalized often enough. And, why was the song "Vibrationist" removed? It was mentioned in his deposition and should therefore be included. --Bonkers The Clown (talk) 12:25, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

How could "Slave to the Rhythm" be missing? It's such a basic one because the producer has already talked about it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.244.118.83 (talk) 01:53, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Space Dance is NOT an official Michael Jackson song!

First off, "Space Dance" isn't even the songs title. It's actually called "Rescue Space Michael" from the Space Channel 5: Part 2 game soundtrack, which was released in 2004, making it impossible for it to have been recorded during the Dangerous era. Secondly, the released version doesn't even feature him in the song. The in-game version features him beatboxing over the instrumental, but otherwise, he had no involvement with the song whatsoever. 24.222.192.185 (talk) 22:32, 25 August 2012 (UTC)

How About locking the List of Unreleased Songs of MJ?

We all know how people can be funny and listing fake songs on here. How about the people that works at Wikipedia do some research, finding the REAL unreleased songs, and locking the article. And whenever you find another song thats unreleased that Michael's, list it, and then lock it again. Yes, I believe there are a FEW fake song son here, but I believe that most of these song are authentic and real. I don't want to see the list deleted, because its interesting of what songs he had unreleased, and how and when they were created. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OneoftheBest (talkcontribs) 23:38, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Merge tag.

I have put the merge tag on this article for several reasons, primarily :-

To have context these songs would be better listed in List of songs recorded by Michael Jacksonand that would avoid deletion, which has a considerable precedent for "unreleased" song articles, see the following AfD discussions:-
List of unreleased Lana Del Rey songs (2nd nomination)
List of unreleased songs by Nicole Scherzinger
List of unreleased Brandy Norwood songs
List of unreleased Rihanna songs
List of unreleased Spice Girls songs
List of unreleased Lady Gaga songs
List of unreleased Usher songs
List of unreleased Coldplay songs
List of unreleased Kylie Minogue songs
List of Mariah Carey b-sides, bonus tracks, and unreleased songs (2nd nomination)
List of Ace of Base unreleased songs
List of Christina Aguilera B-sides and unreleased songs (2nd nomination)
Unreleased Van Halen projects
List of unreleased Cher songs
List of unreleased Sissel Kyrkjebø songs
Bon Jovi outtakes

Cheers.--Richhoncho (talk) 10:01, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

  • Tell me this... How many of those deleted articles have their unreleased songs worth millions of dollars to get a hold of? Michael's unreleased songs are extremely notable to have their own stand-alone article. And besides, adding these to List of songs recorded by Michael Jackson would just be overkill in content.  — Statυs (talk, contribs) 13:55, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
    • Sorry that is the wrong question. If I had felt that the unreleased songs were unnotable I would have AfD'd rather than put a merge proposal. The real questions are, "how many of these songs are unrecorded?" and "Why do the unreleased songs have no context with the released songs?" Cheers. --Richhoncho (talk) 14:18, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

Cleanup urgently required

This article is in very bad condition, with vagueness and inaccuracies everywhere. Some people think they own the article and keep reverting me, so this message is primarily aimed at Escape. He just likes to make big sweeping reverts without explanation, so I've not been able to work out which part they object to. As a way forward, I will carry out the following changes. Instead of one big change, where the detail gets lost, I'm going to make lots of small ones, which are numbered for ease of discussion.

  1. The article contains a lot of phrases like "Song A was completed to be included on album B". Firstly, this is just trivia, and secondly, it's usually unsourced.
  2. As above, but even more tenuous, with speculation about "shelved" albums
  3. Phrases like "May have been" contravene wikipedia policy - it is not a crystal ball
  4. As above, but with the word "Possibly"
  5. A stupid edit - the musician is known publicly and privately as Brad Buxer, and is know as this universally. He has never appeared as "Bradley", even though Brad is a shortened form of Bradley.
  6. There are redlinks everywhere
  7. There are some very eyebrow-raising claims, which are totally unsourced

Escape - if you object to one of these, do not revert - doing so will probably get you banned again, most likely permanently this time. First, discuss it here - start out by saying which one of the edits you don't like. As I have just done, you will need to give reasons for disagreeing (this is the key part, and is more important than actually pressing the undo button). Then we can reach a compromise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.175.37.54 (talk) 10:27, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

  • Do I have to remind you that you're responsible for this edit war? This edit war wouldn't had happen if you didn't start to mess around with the pages. I am okay with the way the page was (before you edited) except for the redlinks, those should be unlink, which I did unlinked them but then you made more disruptive edits. You always seem picky about every page. EscapeX (talk) 18:26, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Legitimate Songs

This is a list of unreleased known Michael Jackson songs. Some of the songs on this list are not only false but are unconfirmed (i.e. Addam's Groove). Shouldn't we only list the confirmed songs?

Therecanonlybeseven (talk) 04:33, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Agreed. Some people have got really carried away with pages like this one. Nobody seems to realise that Youtube is not a reliable source, and so we end up with all sorts of crap added. We need to prune it out quite extensively.
We do. It needs to checked with the sources that we have available. Not youtube. But books and interviews.Therecanonlybeseven (talk) 21:46, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

New unreleased future album.

In November 2013 Sony music will release an album of unreleased Michael Jackson music, all the songs will be featuring other singers on the tracks, It has been produced by Rodney Jerkins and it is called: Michael and Friends. Songs will include: Broken soul, Times Up, Black Widow, Slave to the rhythm, Ready to win, Forever, I have a dream, earth cries, Water, Pictures. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.254.111.250 (talk) 07:07, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Clean out

Another clean out of completely unsourced entries and entries that cite a source that pre-dates the supposed discovery of the song.

Leaks are seldom notable. Unsourced leaks are not notable and are possibly false.

Released songs are not "unreleased". - SummerPhDv2.0 18:28, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

Again, "Space Dance" is NOT a Michael Jackson song.

Yes, he can heard providing beatboxing and backing vocals in the game's mix of the song, but his vocals were removed from the OST release, and he's not credited as a featured vocalist or composer. Unless someone at Sega says otherwise (and considering the legal mess they're in because of his work on Sonic 3, I doubt they will), Jackson had nothing to do with the song. 24.138.44.148 (talk) 20:36, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

The song information for Get Your Weight Off Of Me is partially incorrect. It mentions the chorus snippet being leaked however the snippet that was leaked was not part of the chorus at all.
