Image

There are some beautiful images out there of this exhibition ("Pac-Man" on this page is my personal favorite), but I don't know if there is anything CC or public domain we could use. I haven't been able to find any through usual means. Does anyone know anything? I would love to be able to include an image of how the games are exhibited exactly. ~Mable (chat) 10:50, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

This image might be freely replaceable but this depends on how MOMA's stance on photography (which only allows personal photos, and requires authorization by MOMA to redistribute) interacts with NFC. I am checking on that. But there is allowance if it is NFC due to the description of how the displays are set up. --MASEM (t) 21:39, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

The two outcomes are either: if it is considered to be a freely-replaceable image, someone just has to go over to MOMA and take a photograph or several dozen of the display area to us to use which is far from a difficult task. If it is not free, then this image, which I am presuming that the immediate source got authorization from MOMA to use, is fine and no change is required. --MASEM (t) 22:36, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

Okay, so checking, Commons adopts the policy that unless photography is strictly forbidden (which it is not at MOMA), then even if they adopt a policy that says for personal use, we can use these images on WP. c:Commons:Copyright_rules_by_subject_matter#Museum_and_interior_photography. The tricky is that if this current image were actually say one made by a WP user and licensed free, the screenshot of Pac Man in the center is probably too much for de minimus. So we can replace this with a free image, but the image should be closer to something like File:The_art_of_video_games_exhibition_crowd.jpg where no specific game is focused on , and instead how the exhibit as a whole can be laid out. I wouldn't rush to delete the present image but it is freely replaceable. --MASEM (t) 17:09, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Width of table

@user:Masem, I was actually trying to get the notes-column of the table not to take over what was left of the screen. I think it would look better if, compared to the current table, the title-part was somewhat narrower and the notes section was a lot narrower, leaving some whitespace on the right. Is this possible? Of course, if there are better ways to handle this, then just ignore me. I'm just somewhat annoyed by all of the empty fields left by the huge notes-column and would like to shrink those down. ~Mable (chat) 16:42, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

You should add on the table definition line a "width="xx%"" statement then. By default with the current styles given, tables will fill the space given, and unless there's a unspecified column width, will ignore the user-set column width on the last column to do that. But if you add in at the top the width setting, that will prevent the table from filling the space - the column widths will still be adjusted appropriate so you don't necessarily want to set them all but that can be better tuning of appearance. --MASEM (t) 16:45, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

I still can't seem to figure it out. Adding width="70%" right next to "class="wikitable sortable"" has no effect whatsoever, nor does trying things like "style="width: 60%"", which I got from the help page. What am I doing wrong? ~Mable (chat) 17:02, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
